After close looking into this company when i was becoming suspicious, I'm pretty sure that there is something seriously wrong and that they are possibly a scam. I placed a deposit for my items to be collected and sent to vancouver From boston. I received confirmation of a range of dates, specifically over four days, and they were the cheapest quote I received. I organized with work to get a couple of those days off, and organized to get coverage if the pick up date fell on a day I was working. The day before the start of the pick up dates, I rang them to see if they knew when they would collect my items. They rang me saying that it would be the end of the following week. I argued saying that I have confirmation of the pick up dates and that I organized my schedule around that. They gave me a different pick up date, and told me I would receive a discount. I asked to receive e-mail confirmation of this. I never received anything, had a bad feeling, and found another shipping company. In the meantime they never arrived when they said they would, and I never received any notification of cancellation, or that the dates were changed again, nor did I receive the confirmation e-mail I requested. I looked further into their company: the better business bureau were never able to verify the two different addresses of absolute vanlines, and their business license has never been verified. Looking further, they charged my deposit on a different name than absolute vanlines, entitled multicity moving, a moving company in Canada. I had to hunt for reviews, but a lot of them state that their items were held until they paid a higher price than the quote they were initially given, and that upon delivery their items were   badly damaged, they were also unable to reach them for compensation, even if they paid for insurance. I am very relieved that I chose to switch companies before I fell under the same fate. Now I am trying to get my deposit back and warn others not to use this company.
