This company called me three times a day, beginning at 8 a.m. They neeed to resolve asap in order for me to get a discount. I gave my credit card info, and now they will not honor our settlement agreement. They said the company that filed the report "changed thier mind". I can't believe I didn't get anything in writing before I gave my information. Now instead of $400 left on my balance they want $950. I called to speak with a supervisor, and some punk hung up on my twice. He was rude and unprofessional. The other person I was dealing with lied. She told me they never took payments by mail. I got a letter today saying to send the $950 asap. Don't give them any infor over the phone. They are scam artists as all collection services are.

I think I spelled every other word wrong on my last statement. I'm so disheartened to know that there are such thieves in this world. I was just trying to clear up my credit with only one damaging report on my credit history. The account is over 5 years past due. I had no idea it even existed. Academy said if I paid $400 right away, and $400 in the next month, it would be taken care of. Instead they took my $400, and claim that I now owe $934. I tryed speaking to them, but they are rude and hang up on me. I'm now disputing the charge with my credit card company. I think the people that work at Academy Collection are all ex-cons, angry at the world. Don't ever give them any information over the phone. Get everything in writing. I learned my lesson.
