Academy Collections Service Takes your money and then resells the debt, Philadelphia Pennsylvania

I found this site by googling the company name. Noticed another person had the exact same experience at the exact same time and year.

I paid off my son's bad credit card debt with this company in 2001. However, he has continued to receive notices that he still owes the debt. They took the money 'electronically', and I no longer have the bank statements from 2001. However, I do have a copy of a fax they sent thanking us for the payment, along with the file number.

I just found it interesting that someone else also had the same experience, at the very same time ('early 2001'). That does make you wonder exactly who's pocket the money went into.

These companies are the scum of the earth. Debt collection is legalized extortion. Once they have you, you can pay them, then they resell the debt and you start all over again. And again. And again.
