Hi,

I had the owner at ACDC Pty Ltd, Peter (“G Peter Battisson”) and his son Don have a look at my car in 2011, which was a massive mistake

The car had transmission problems and Don said it needed a new transmission that cost me around $4k to “fix”(well, that’s what they told me…). They weren’t going to start working on the car until I paid them first (another mistake)…

Eventually they called and told me they fixed the problem but it was going to cost me an extra $6k ($10k in total… more than what the car was worth!) without telling me it was going to cost more (I thought it was only going to cost the original $4k to fix it).

I told him that I wasn’t going to pay the extra 6k and he said that he would get back his money by ripping apart the car and selling the parts.

Unfortunately for me, I never had any proof like “L. Mathosa” because I trusted Don and Peter (an expensive mistake you should avoid at all cost), and they only talked over the phone or in-person – warning signs!!!

I video recorded one conversation and showed a lawyer in 2011, but unfortunately it couldn’t be used as proof.

There was nothing I could do… so I cut my losses because I wasn’t going to give-in and pay these crooks any more money.

After moving ahead, I recently received a text from Peter:

“You are advised that if by the 31^st August 2015 your outstanding account has not been finalized, the vehicle will be sold. Any monies exceeding the outstanding amount will be deposited with the ACT Government in the usual way. If there is a shortfall in the amount then we will engage a debt collection agency.

We also note your actions in regard to the Internet.

Legal action will commence if you do not cease and desist.

Peter, this is an absolute disgrace and you and your son shouldn’t be in business because you give mechanic a bad reputation.

I am assuming he thought I was writing comments on this website, but I am not “L. Mathosa”.

So I hope you note my actions on the Internet Peter because what I said is 100% true so it’s not defamation (good luck trying to proof it is)…. so good luck with the legal action. Plus, another past-customer is writing customers about your business ripping them off – if there’s smoke, there’s usually a fire.

I hope “L. Mathosa” tells me his story and we can stop this from happening so these mechanics don’t rip off other people…. Crooks shouldn’t be able to hide under laws that require you to have documented proof.

P.S. Below is a letter of demand I sent to Peter and Don, but they were not able to prove the cost of fixing the car... yet now they are threatening me with legal action and a debt because of their dodgy work - this is ridiculous. The legal system is a joke... and this is an expesive mistake to learn from.
