Terrible customer service and price gouging experience!!! I have been in the automotive industry for years. Ace was recommended by my cousin Dave Angst of Bill Angst Motor Service because Dave didn't do this kind of work. I took my 2008 Ford Explorer in for a Hub Assembly including sensor replacement. The total bill $688 more than I was originally quoted. The hub assembly through the Ford dealer cost $333.00 always the most expensive. I was charged $432.00 through Ace for the same part. I know there is some markup being in this business but really. I asked Ace what kind of warranty was included and they didn't know when they should have. I asked them where they ordered the part from, Motor Parts and Equipment in Winona, where I know the guys and called them to ask the price of this exact same part $292.00 with a lifetime warranty the most expensive and $162.00 with a 3 year warranty two options and Ace Auto couldn't tell me what one they ordered and never informed me that I had any kind of warranty.
Terrible customer service and price gouging at its best!!! I then asked the opinion of my brakes since they had the hub assembly out and caliper off and was charged another $21 for inspection. Finally I asked them to inspect my pulleys for my serpentine belt for alignment and on the invoice they stated I had a pulley with play but never identified what it was pertaining too. I called them back to find out more info and what pulley, funny thing is they stated it was the tensioner pulley which I had replaced not to long ago. This is uncalled for service and no recommendations made by me or the Angst name in Winona, MN. I would highly recommend staying away for Ace Auto for any service needs. Your better off going to the dealer in this case. Terrible service!!!!!! I am not one to complain about things like this being in this kind of business for years but there is a thing called CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HONESTY. Bad reviews will affect future business.

I have to apologize to you Kurt, it was never my intention to give you a terrible experience here at Ace Auto. Our goal in this shop is to provide our customers with the honesty that they deserve when getting their car fixed here. That is why we call our customers before any work is done with an estimate and explanation with what needs to be done with the vehicle. As I recall when I called you and explained, to the best of my knowledge, what needed to be done with your vehicle you authorized the work to be done at the price I quoted you, at that time I never got the feeling you were upset and I apologize for that as we could have worked something out that would have worked for you. I also have to apologize for not knowing all the details of the warranty that came along with the part, I am new at this job and trying to learn it quickly but as you know from working in the automotive industry for years that there is a lot to learn and I have not learned all about warrenties, that is why I offered to find out and give you a call back but as you stated there was no need to do that.
I have worked different jobs in this company and let me asure you that there is no price gouging going on, we do the standard mark up on parts that most automotive shops use and have never had a problem before. The owner and employees here have worked really hard to get the reputation that we have with our customers and fellow auto shops and are truly sorry that my lack of knowledge at my job caused you to have such a terrible experience here, we have tried to call you to rectify the situation but have not heard back from you.
