Did an event on 5/2 and 5/3 for the KY area. I had asked before how long it would take to be paid. In one email, from one of their reps, he did tell me it would take 6 weeks! Fine!

Then about 25 days later, I received an email from this agency saying to look out for paychecks between 6/10-6/24. Fine!

For the last possible day they could have sent it to me, it should have been the 24th.

Here is the weird part.

For all agencies I have worked with, I give them a leeway of about a day after the event to process and then two days for the mail to get to my address. If it was mailed on the 24th, I should have received it by Monday or today of this week.

From what the earlier recruiter had said, it would take 6 weeks and clearly, it is later than that. In fact, they sent a courteous email, which is great since other agencies, who pay this late, you never hear from them; however, this is still payment delay.

If an agency executive were to come across this post, I would want to see some changes made. 6 weeks is NOT an acceptable limit to withhold pay. At most, it should be 3 weeks and most businesses pay biweekly. Does the CEO wait 6 weeks to be paid? I, as a brand ambassador, make or sink an agency. Without me doing an event, they do not get the money at the top.

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Ace High Marketing

AUTHOR: Meghan - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, December 08, 2017

I worked for this company back in September 24th of 2017 I filled out all paperwork before I started work that Saturday for Coke a cola that we were sponsoring. It was a 19$ an hour pay we worked from 2-8 so a 6 hour shift . When we first arrived it took us 30 minutes to go find the people we were working for... I had to go and buy white shoes for the event and by the end of the day had 4 blisters. We passed out coke all day and at the end of the day stayed a little longer just to help them clean up and put up everything. I called the company on 3 different occasions last month trying to figure out where my check is because I was suppose to recieve it on 11/10/17-11/17/17 of last month and have yet to recieve it . I called again yesterday on 12/7/17 and the guy was very confused why I hadn’t received it yet either and said his boss was on lunch that he would let her no. I just received an email this morning saying it has been mailed out... I’m very confused why I have had to go through this process because if I didn’t I would have never even got paid . My sister and my friend also worked that day and haven’t been paid yet .... it’s obvious they are trying to scam people so I’m doing whatever possible to let the people no this is NOT a good company to work for and should not be alllowed to even have this company

Rebuttal to the Owner/CEO

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 11, 2016

"First as the owner of Ace High Marketing LLC I humbly apologize if you feel like you have been slighted. That is not within Ace High Marketing LLC character. Though I am the owner of the company I am also extremely connected to everyone that works with us. So before I go any further here is my personal cell and you can feel free to call me to discuss your concerns personally. 404 379-4790."

I am personally grateful that not just anyone from the agency saw this post, but the CEO/owner (BONUS!!).

"With ALL jobs with AHM you must sign a contract. ALL terms are explained within the contact PRIOR to you accepting the job, including payment terms. Forgive me but if you did not take the time to read your contract, I do not think that AHM can be at fault for that."

Unfortunately, many brand ambassadors have to sign a contract and I did read it. If you look back at my original post, it was not the 5-6 weeks pay I was really concerned about. I was making more of the case that it should be strongly discouraged for an agency to wait that long, for a brand ambassador to be paid.

"Now it as stated in your complaint that other jobs pay within 2-3 weeks. And that is correct. But those are jobs that the employer is committed to."

These are with other brand ambassador agencies, your competitors, who I am treated as an IC with as well. Going back to your original statement "Though I am the owner of the company, I am also extremely connected to everyone that works with us," If you were really connected, you would know that 6 weeks is by far the lowest standard that a brand ambassador agency can have and this was proved in my original post. For every week late that a check is cut, the brand ambassador ends up getting lost in the database and may never get paid. This happens, intentionally or unintentionally. Happened to me. The week AFTER I had written this, I had to talk to Kojo and then another gal, Leisha (or similar) and tell them that I still was not paid. To give you an accurate count of days (which I spread sheet every agency I have worked with), Ace High Marketing's check came about 42 days late. Out of 50agencies I have worked with, this agency comes in as a bottom one of three that pays that late. This is not counting one day for processing after the event days and about two days it takes to mail the check to my place.

"Also in your complaint you stated you got an email stating when you would be paid. This is a standard email that we send to ALL BA's. We do not try to hide or stay in the gray. We are totally transparent. "

I would definitely say that this was one positive that separated this agency from the other bottom ones now on my list. The agency is actually TRANSPARENT about when they will pay. Still, I never had the check mailed out on the 6/24, as stated. That week, on that Tuesday, was when I had NOT received that check. If it was mailed on Friday, it should have made it by Tuesday. Still, I had to call up Leisha (similar name to this) and she told me she would personally put a sticky note for the manager. On that Tuesday, after the 4th of July, I had received it.

So you see, I did not mind waiting all that time (which I should not have) because the agency should try to strive for payrolling early; however, it was NOT mailed out by the last possible date on the email. I even checked with the staff and they were perplexed. I received it a week after. Even allowing 3-5 business days after, it is still late. It was a delayed payment.

The best thing you could do as owner and CEO is change this policy. The earlier you do payroll, the less guesswork, complaints, and calling in has to happen. I, myself, will probably not work for this agency again and I do not know how many other brand ambassadors have left, because of this reason. So you see? If you improve payroll, more brand ambassadors will want to work for you, less complaints will be made, the brand ambassador does not have to guess the next pay check, and the check will come in on time. I have still never had a problem with any of my biweekly agencies. It is true that like this agency, the check could come an extra week late. Biweekly seems to fare better. Thanks!

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

1314008

AUTHOR: Leighton - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, July 11, 2016

To whom it may concern- First as the owner of Ace High Marketing LLC I humbly apologize if you feel like you have been slighted. That is not within Ace High Marketing LLC character. Though I am the owner of the company I am also extremely connected to everyone that works with us. So before I go any further here is my personal cell and you can feel free to call me to discuss your concerns personally. 404 379-4790. But there are a few things that must be said about your anonymous complaint. With ALL jobs with AHM you must sign a contract. ALL terms are explained within the contact PRIOR to you accepting the job, including payment terms. Forgive me but if you did not take the time to read your contract, I do not think that AHM can be at fault for that. Also every Brand Ambassador is a independent Contractor (IC). That means you all can pick and choose when and for who you work for at any time. Now it as stated in your complaint that other jobs pay within 2-3 weeks. And that is correct. But those are jobs that the employer is committed to. As a BA you cannot pick and choose when you want to be a employee and when you want to be a IC. As an employee you CANNOT pick and choose when and for who you work with. If you say no it is ground for instant termination. As a BA you have that luxury of picking and choosing. Again as a BA you cannot go back and fourth when it is convenient. And being able to turn down jobs when you want to and being able to work with as many companies as you want to, that are competitors, and it be accepted is also not acceptable for employees. You cannot work for Coke and Pepsi who are competitors in the employee work. But in the IC, BA world you can. You cannot tell Coke or Pepsi, nah I'm not doing this or that project. You would be fired instantly. You can as a IC or BA. Also in your complaint you stated you got an email stating when you would be paid. This is a standard email that we send to ALL BA's. We do not try to hide or stay in the gray. We are totally transparent. So with that said if you have any other questions, qualms or concerns please feel free to call me directly. I would love to discuss this furry with you in detail. Leighton Condell Owner/CEO/Managing Member
