ACS Manager Steven - Universal Financial - AC Amer Credit rips off the miltary. Highland Heights, Kentucky

Way back at the end of July we got a letter from this company called Amer-Credit. Stating we were quareenteed a loan up to 4000.00, to fill out application and submit a 70.00 processing fee. Which my husband and I did.

Steve with AmerCredit called us several weeks later and said everything was a go, and we would be getting an application from Universal Financial. We did in fact get the paerwork to sign for Universal, however it said to submit a 55.00 membership fee. Again my husband and I scrapped another 55.00 together and sent it to them.

Several weeks went by and we heard nothing.Everytime I tried to call Universal directly I would get a recording. I would leave numerous messages and would never get a call back from them. Finally one day someone did answer, never told me their name and stated they were finishing up on the last of the paperwork and we would get our letter and payment terms the following week.

By the end of the week which by now is around Labor Day we got the letter from Universal Financial dening us the loan. I immediately called Steve with Amer-Credit(cause according to all the documents I signed including the one with Universal Financial, we were entitled to a refund, I have also kept those copies) Anyways Steve told me he was shocked that they denied us, that when he spoke with them it was a go. He then told me to fax him the denial letter and he would refund a portion of the 70.00 consulting fee.( In the AmerCredit contract it does say that if we are denied services we will get a refund of 35.00)

I have received the 35.00 refund from Steve with AmeriCredit. However, Universal Financial still will not return any of my phone calls or refund the 55.00(according to their contract if we are denied services we are entitled to the full amount)

I am very upset that companies can get away with this not only to the general public but to the military as well. My husband is military he said he is going to JAG with all the documents and hopefully the JAG lawyers can help.

I have read the other 20 something reports about Universal Financial. Which I wish I would have researched them before hand, but we were desperate to try for a loan. I think all the people who have been ripped off need to ban together and find a lawyer who will represent all of us and sue this company and not only get our 55.00 back but interest and pain and suffering as well.

If anyone has received their 55.00 refund please let me know how you did it. I am about ready to send them a certified letter and contact the media.
