ACS This company says I owe them $856.24 . They have lowered the amount to $356. If I do not pay it by Aug 14th they say they will bring me to court and it will cost $4271.15 needless to say I am very scared about this and do not know if this is true or not. i have never heard of this company and they say that it came from my computer. I have scammed recently by an Adam Graham and he has ALL my information because he said he was coming here to marry me. He knows ALL my bank numbers , my social, internet information and anything else that can harm me. So what do I do now ...if you could tell me I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! I live on a fixed income of $30 000 and Adam got alot of money from me . I took it out of my IRA to give to him...so we're talking like $100, 000 and I do NOT want this amount to be public information. if at all possible . If this is legitimate I will pay it if not it's causing ALOT of stress on me. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!!! Don't know Nationwide

I started out by going to an online dating service called Christian Mingle. This man Adam Graham wrote to me and say I was the only one for him. I believed him and over the course of two years I wrote to him . And he promised he was coming home to marry me. So I naturally gave him my inforamtion. STUPID! Yes after the fact I know mow that , that was stupid and I did the wrong thing. I sent him money alot. Throught Western Union and Money Gram. You can check their records , at first I sent it to him , then when I could no longer send it to him, He gave me other people's names to send it to. So I did that...the Western Union & Money gram had him red flagged and I was too stupid to catch on. All in all I must have sent him about a hundred grand which I will never get back. Oh I also took out a loan to send him money alos. I am paying that off...but out of the blue this Company ACS sends me this notice saying I owe them $356 and I never heard of this company . They say I borrowed $ 300 . I never got any $300. I did get the loan I am now paying off. And they threaten to take me to cout...for #4217.12 . Needless to say I AM SACARED. I am 62 and I am a widow. I only get $30,000 a year. And I am in debt because of Adam Graham to the tune of $20,000 because instead of paying my bills I sent it to him. NOW I am in hot water "oweing" this company and don't have it to send. I would have to once again go to my IRA and take money out to send . Can you please help me at all? I WOULD BE ETERNALLY GRATEFULL!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This is the last time we are notifying you to take care of this debt if you failed to respond us back then this case will be directly forwarded to the court house as well as to the credit bureaus once you will be blacklisted.
We would be looking for your positive response if you want to avoid legal consequences and if not then you can very well dispute this case into the court house.

By chance is there a phone number on the bill that you could call to speak to someone about this supposed bill that you owe?? I have never heard of a company ACS either, but people send bogus bills in the mail all the time hoping to score money from an unsuspecting person. Those scams are just as easy as the email scams and phone call scams. When you call the company, you need to ask specific questions such as proof of the debt that is owed, the exact date in which the debt/transaction happened. Make sure to take notes and listen for any variation in their claim to alert you to it being a scam. Also, make sure that you note the name of the person that you speak with, their phone number and direct extention if they have one, any kind of employee number that could be used to identify them later, the full address of the company, and their fax number. After taking down all of that information, I would contact your local police department and see if they have had any complaints about scams like this in your area as well and possibly fill out a fraud report. It is better that you fill it out as soon as possible rather than wait until it is too late. Good luck to you!!!

If you do a little search you will see that this is the Payday Loan Collection Scam. Go to FTC(dot)gov and read up on this and other scams. Don't send ACS any money. Don't respond to them either via email or phone. They are very aggressive scammers looking to get their hands on your money any way they can.
I hope you reported the last person, Adam Graham, to the FTC and to the police department.
Never send money Western Union or Money Gram to a stranger.
