I have been taking out payday loans for awhile now, and I have paid everyone back and I still have four loans out right now that are up to date, always on time, and I have an excellent repoire with these payday loan companies.  Since I took out my first payday loan last year sometime, I started receiving phone calls from this man, that had a foreign accent, and would yell at me on the phone, saying that I owe all this money, and if I don't pay it, the police will come to my house and arrest me and take me to jail.  Other phone calls, the man started talking sexually towards me.  This calls will not stop, now they will call me with phone numbers that are local, and you think its someone you know and it turns out to be them.  They are now sending me emails saying that if I don't pay this money back, they will be sueing me.  I have asked them several times what payday loan to I owe and all they say is you know, you took the loan out.  I told him to go ahead and sue me.  I have never taken money from this company.  He has my account number and I am afraid he is going to take it out of my account.  I don't know what to do.  I have gone to the police, I have talked to the FBI, I sent a complaint to the Internet Crime, but I still keep getting these phone calls.  I am so stressed out, I don't know what to do.  Please help me figure out what to do.  This man is so rude and nasty, I need to help myself plus all the other people they are trying to scam out of money.

The guy calling you is a scammer, and his whole operation is a scam.  At some point you may have filled out an 'application' online so he now has your personal info or one of the companies you get payday loans from may have sold your info to a list.

Look up the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act online and study it.  This law protects your rights as a US citizen.  They must contact you in writing, they must send you in writing proof of the debt, no one is going to call the police or send them to your place of business.  Once you understand your rights when this person calls laugh at them.  Use a deep belly laugh and insult their parentage.  It is a scammer, trying to cheat you out of your hard earned money, let the anger motivate you.  They only call because you are on their list as someone who they feel they will ultimately bully into sending them money.  If you know your rights, don't interact with them except to quote your rights, and laugh at their bullying they will eventually write you off their list.

A last word of advice.  I know times are hard and people have financial problems.  But do all you can to get out of the payday loan cycle.  They are killing you with interest and fees - even worse than the worst credit cards.

good luck!
