Action-Imports Repair, Inc. An $83 plastic part and 15 min. allowable labor, plus oil change: $754.81!! Rip-Off. Next day, Rene' offered $80 refund for a "sign-off" -not acceptable to me. St. Petersburg Florida

An $83 (Internet cost) Air Mass Meter, plus 15 minutes labor, plus an oil change (with filters) cost me $754.81 at Action-Imports at 2931 4th Street North, St. Petersburg, on May 4, 2010!   At a minimum, I was over-charged $300 for the oil change...but, wait, I did get filters!   Using the most expensive cost, a Volvo dealership, the Air Mass Meter, installed, would have cost $400; the ONLY other item Action-Imports performed was an oil change!!!!!  

ACTION-IMPORTS Bill of Sale Read:  $47.58 fuel filter, $9.50 air filter, 5 quarts oil $20, and another "air" filter for $26.94, $3.00 waste, $305 for Air Mass Meter (the $83 part) = $412 for parts, and $285 Labor, and $48.79 tax = $754.87! (total amount paid). 

Owner Rene' insisted on me leaving my car there for the day.  When I made an inquirey a week prior regarding a diagnostic charge, Rene' quoted $47.  On the day of rip-off, I twice confirmed before agreeing to payment, that the $754.87 quote INCLUDED a repair on LCD dashboard light.  Rene' said this ($754.87) would take care of "all of my requests".  Needless to say, when I picked up my car, the LCD repair wasn't done, Rene' said we had a "misunderstanding" and that the LCD repair would be expensive and I would need leave my car there (another day) for that repair...and that it would be costly.  He claimed the $754.87 I paid did not include that repair and he (Rene') thought I meant the replacement of a simple back light bulb, which he claims he replaced for free.  Unfortunately, I paid ACTION-IMPORTS $754.87 by a debit card!!! 

The following a.m. I returned to ACTION-IMPORTS to confront Rene' about the rip-off and consumer fraud.  I was willing to concede the dealership cost of $400 (for the $83 part/15 minutes labor) for the Air Mass Meter, but the only other thing done was an oil change!!!!!!  $754.87 paid, less $400 =  $354.87 Oil Change!!! Rene' offered an $80 refund IF I would "sign-off" and he began take my original bill of sale and write-up a replacement...I refused the $80 and requested $200......He told me to leave ACTION_IMPORTS. 

I think notifying you of the "RIP-OFF" at ACTION-IMPORTS is more important than signing off for $80!!  I'm a woman, but he has mistaken me for someone else.  In reading this, I hope that you will return the favor of reporting these RIP OFFs.

I still looking for an honest mechanic for a 2002 Volvo.
