5 years ago or more, my wife fell into the trap set by this company. For a mere $35/month she could get all these magazines. I won't go into why my wife would have actually agreed to this, but I would guess it was something along the lines of telling her how much money she was saving off of the maximum newsstand prices.

Anyway, about a year ago I became aware of the situation and got involved. They would NOT talk to me AT ALL -- only to my wife. If I would try to talk to them they would hang up.

They claimed that we could not cancel the subscription, and that if we didn't want anymore magazines they would have to continue charging us per "our agreement" until the subscription period was up. When asked when that was, their response was either "the end of this month" or "next month" normally.

As other people have reported, they call ALL THE TIME acting like if you don't get it taken care of right away it will adversely affect your credit. Bah.

So tonight enough was enough. They called and spoke with my wife, she plainly told them she wasn't interested in any more magazines, and to please stop billing us, and to PLEASE stop calling us. (they had been billing our checking account directly for years up until a few months ago when we had our bank put a stop on it.)

Anyway, they (as guessed) called back immediately. This time I answered the phone, and insisted that they talk to me, and actually got them to. After about 5 minutes in which I asked them for their corporation name, and to speak with the supervisor of whoever I was talking to, I was told by the gal I was speaking with that "she didn't make enough money to be argueing with me" and then a few moments later that "she had to go pick up her daughter from ballet, goodbye" and hung up on me.

I'm interested to see if we hear from them again.
