THINK TWICE BEFORE CONTRACTING WITH ADAIR HOMES
In 2006, I was approved by a federal government program for a loan to buy my first home for my daughter and myself. When I found my Adair home, I thought I had found my dream home. BOY, WHAT A EYE OPENER and LONG BATTLE THIS HAS BEEN. After only 6 months of living in this new home, cracks began to appear in the walls. The Adair warrantee person came to say not to worry, it is completely normal for a new house to move. Well, it has never stopped and now my windows are breaking due to the pressure of the framing shrinkage. There is a visable seperation of the exterior wall and the roof truss. My doors close today, but not tomorrow. This is like living in a house of cards. They don't cover (take responsibility) for anything and just blame it on other outside unknown forces. (Sound familiar?)
I have had insurance adjusters and structural engineers who come to the same conclusions of BAD CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS. The house moves and rattles when you simply walk through it. I have lived in mobile homes, houses built next to a major freeway and on a cliff over the beach that were much more sturdy then this. There is simply no good reason for it's instability. I am very worried about my daughters room at this time. She sleeps under the window that is moving out of the wallboard and the glass has broken under the pressure.
I am at my whitts end!! I don't have the financial capabilities to take them to court (and they know it). I have experienced perfect examples of those not taking responsibilty for their actions. My home and the biggest investment of my life is about to come crashing down.
This is simply not right. How do they get away with ripping people off from their life time of hopes, dreams and investments. This is beginning to look like I will be completely financially ruined.
I look forward to any publicity, opinions and advice that is available.

Evidence of Moisture and Mold found behind drywall
AUTHOR: Adair homes: builder won't make good - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, March 03, 2009
After removing some of the drywall next to the broken window that my daughter sleeps next to, I am more that ever convinced that this house is built by inferior materials and shoddy construction.
I found the wall and framing boards to be damp and cold. When I removed the drywall and pulled back insulation, I found water and mold.
I am suspecting that there may also be a problem with the siding. I will do another discovery removal of the siding this weekend.
There will be several contractors taking a look as well. I have a complete log of the removal and lots of pics that I will try and attatch here.

Please, if you have any comments, I would be happy to hear them.
