Read this information before using AddressGermany.com service, if you don't want to have a disappointing experience.

The company seems to be operated by a single person or a very small bunch of people. The key person is obviously Erkan Meydanlioglu, a Turk residing in Germany. His knowledge of either English or German is very poor, so the website is written in poor English as well. The German version of his site is not fully translated (only the navigation menu, the main text exists only in poor English), which is pretty anoying, considering that the company is located in Germany. Surprisingly, there's no Turkish version.

When you sign up and pay the fee, you get access to the member's area with the worst unintuitive interface. Here you get to read some important news and messages in broken English that can be hard to understand and that convey quite surprising information that was not available before signing up.

Firstly, you realize that you won't be given your personal German address. You only get a digit prefix next to the street address by which your packages will be recognized. But you have to use that guy's name (not your own!) and the company name (addressgermany.com) as part of the shipping address when you shop. So you don't really own the items, you paid for.

Secondly, there are not a lot of useful features in the member's area. Most of the communication between you and the service provider will be conducted through e-mail in broken English. The response times are usually pretty fast, but the style of e-mails is sloppy.

Thirdly, the site claims that they ship through DHL and the shipping calculator on the website sends you to the DHL website. However, once you request your shipment and get a tracking number, you'll find out that it has been sent by cheaper regular mail through Deutsche Post and you track your package through the Deutsche Post website. Remember, there are no options to select mail service provider in the member's area and you remain unaware of what it will be until you actually request a shipment. You have to write emails to discuss other shipping options. There are no cost estimates available either, and you find out about the shipping cost only after they issue the invoice. It's not awfully expensive but considering the shipping method, it could definitely be cheaper.

And lastly, yes, you get a life-time membership, but I doubt you'd want to deal with this company for the rest of your/their life. You won't get a feeling that you deal with a trustable business. The site is not entirely truthful about their services and conditions. So sign up at your own risk!

I find them to be reliable and effective

AUTHOR: David Gabbitas - ()

POSTED: Saturday, June 08, 2013

I have been using this company for some months and find them to be reliable and effective. I have no problems at all with them.

How many employees does it take to readdress packages??

I am pleased that they dont use DHL because DHL  keep sending my packages back to the sender claiming that I have an incorrect address. DHL has no understanding of the French rural post system and cannot cope if your address hasn't got a number.
