Adelphia Cable Communications fraudulant billing & collections claiming cable box not returned ripoff Stuart Florida

I have recently moved to a new house in Port St Lucie and set up cable from my name into my husbands name. Adelphia said to bring the cable box back and they would start off the new account with a fresh box. I returned the box to the sattelite office in Port St Lucie sometime between 8/5 and 8/14/06. Now in October I receive a threatening letter, no phone call or anything else, that I will be turned over to collections for not returning the cable box.

I immediately called the local number listed on the letter (Jensen Office) and left a message, noone ever called me back. I gave it about a week and tried to call their billing number listed on the bill, they said they could not handle it and I would have to call the local office. So again I called the local office, left another message with no returned call.

Then on 11/8/06 I wrote an email from their website regarding this issue and again no response. This is the SECOND time they have done this. They put my husband in collections for the same thing in 1999 and later after months of back and forth disputes, they found the box in their local office.

I am a victim of their disorganized business practices. The box has been returned, they want to demand payment from me and they wont return any of my messages.
