I went to this company to have an electrical part installed on my truck for trailer brakes. It involved plugging 2 wires together in a snap together coupling
and fastening the outlet to the bumper with 4 bolts. I had installed the previous wiring plug in a parking lot myself and it took 15 minutes. After 2 hours of patient
waiting for these people to work on my truck I inquired as to the status of my truck. I was informed it would be 15 more minutes. After an additional 20 minutes
I inquired again as to the status of my truck. I was then told it would be an additional 20 minutes. I complained to what appeared to be a 'manager' of this
outfit. After an additional 15 minutes I still didn't have my truck. I then demanded my truck be returned. I was out of time and patience with people who had no intention of working on my truck and certainly no interest in providing service to customers. They charged me 36$ for a 15$ part and 15 minutes of work after wasting 2+ hours of my time! When I got home the part they had mounted and charged for had already fallen-off my truck.

This place is a total flim-flam in my estimation. Don't go there!

AUTHOR: ADH Inc - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 03, 2009

In response to Spencer Haskins allegation that ADH hijacked his truck, I would like to add a few facts that have been conveniently omitted from his report.

Mr. Haskins originally brought in his vehicle for ADH to install a Class IV receiver hitch on the rear of his Dodge Ram & to also replace the existing wiring parts which were damaged & broken. When Mr. Haskins Dodge Ram was driven into the work area, an ADH employee realized that the rear bumper was severely damaged, presumably caused by a rear end collision of some sort. The current state of the bumper was so severe that there was absolutely no way that a hitch could be installed. Seeing this, the ADH employee informed the customer and gave him 2 options. 1- Did Mr. Haskins want to proceed with the replacement of the wiring even though a trailer hitch was impossible to install? Or 2 - Did Mr. Haskins want to postpone the wiring job until he was able to replace the bumper so a hitch could be installed?

Mr. Haskins informed the employee that he did not have the authority to make that decision alone, that he needed to confirm with someone. Mr. Haskins called someone on his cell phone, then informed the ADH staff that he had to wait for a return call. During this time, Mr. Haskins vehicle was not being worked because Mr. Haskins had not yet given his permission for ADH to do anything. Once Mr. Haskins got his return call and gave ADH permission to proceed with only the wiring, the Dodge Ram was pulled back into the work area and the wiring job began.

As for the extended time estimates, it is impossible and illogical to expect anyone to be able to predict whether a problem might arise or how long it could take to correct the found problem. Whenever existing wiring has to be replaced, it is for a good reason, it usually does not work. In this case, Mr. Haskins wiring was damaged along with his bumper, causing unforseen problems.

ADH employees are trained to perform each specific task properly to insure quality work. No wiring job, big or small, is to leave the work area without being tested first. If a wiring job is completed, but does not test accurately it must be inspected and diagnosed until the problem is found and corrected The amount of time to investigate and repair an unknown wiring problem is only an estimate.

During this time, Mr. Haskins was very patient and calm with all the ADH employees in the office and waiting area. If he felt aggravated or irritated, he never expressed this to anyone at ADH. No complaining or demanding occurred during Mr. Haskins visit to ADH.

The cost of the part is irrelevant. Price comparison between Mass Merchandiser and Specialty Store products is like comparing apples and green beans. The retail products in the showroom at ADH are clearly price marked and displayed throughout the showroom. The actual cost of the wiring part in question is $24.95 plus tax. The labor cost charged to Mr. Haskins was $10.00. (Labor is tax exempt) No additional labor costs were charged to Mr. Haskins for the extra time and effort it took for the ADH employees to troubleshoot and diagnose the extensive wiring problems.

With his preexisting knowledge of the rear bumper and wiring damage, Mr. Haskins knew in advance that this would not be a 15 minute parking lot plug in job. That is the reason he chose to bring his repair job to a professional location instead of attempting it himself.

The allegation that the wiring parts installed by ADH had fallen off is unconfirmed. Mr. Haskins never reported this to ADH, neither in person nor by phone, fax, mail or email. Mr. Haskins wrote a letter to the Better Business Bureau which was forwarded to ADH. This was the first time that ADH was aware that Mr. Haskins was unhappy with his experience, or that he claimed anything was wrong with his installation. If, by some chance, this claim is true, it can only be attributed to the physical condition of the rear bumper on Mr. Haskins Dodge Ram.

Following proper procedure, ADH filed a rebuttal with the Better Business Bureau which included copies of invoices and a complete recollection of the accounts. In the end, the BBB declared Mr. Haskins claims to be unfounded and closed the case. We have served thousands of customers through out the years with great success and we have a high level of customer satisfaction and appreciation. After 29 years of business, I can honestly say that I have never seen insults such as these thrown around so carelessly.
