ADO TRUCKING LLC Fired for having jury duty St. Louis, Missouri

Beware of this company drivers! I went to work for ADO Trucking 3/2010 thru 4/2010. I went above and beyond my job duties to include: breaking DOT rules and going against my own principles to keep the boss happy (economy sucks, jobs are hard to come by). I will say the money was good (made $5,000 in that one month). Anyways, I delivered a load in Tampa, Fl. 3/28/2010 and was going to go home til' 3/30/2010. I got home and discovered I had a summons for jury duty in the mail, saying I had jury duty on 5/3/2010. I called my boss to let him know what was up and got no answer. The next morning I called again and told him what the deal was. He immediately was irate, cursing and throwing a fit telling me he already had a load booked for  4/30/2010, and that I had better find a way to get out of jury duty. I explained that there was no way out of it, and tried to explain that I might not even have to report if my number wasn't called (have to call on weekend before jury duty to see if number is called). He was still irate and didn't want to hear any reason in what I was telling him! I then was told I was fired!! Funny thing about it, I still couln't get the truck back to him until Saturday at the earliest( he wasn't going to be able to do the booked load reguardless). So we agreed that I would take the truck to his brother in law in Orlando ( all the while I was asking him to just let me keep my job, telling him it was illegal to fire me for jury duty). We agreed that he would mail my final paycheck(3 weeks worth of pay) Mon. if truck, paperwork, fuel cards, etc. were given to his brother in law by Saturday night (so I did). Needless to say, it took 2 weeks to get my money(and not even all of it). My wife, daughter and I lost our place to live because he didn't get my money to me in the time period he promissed(liesd over and over-excuse after excuse). Lesson learned.................
