We took our little dachshund to Adobe Vet because she had started vomiting and seemed to have a fever. The vet confirmed that she had a fever but was convinced that she had eaten something that was lodged in her belly. We were given an estimate for suggested tests and treatment that neared $400.
We declined most of the redundant testing that the vet recommended and opted for the blood work. When the blood work came back the vet reported not seeing anything conclusive and insisted that she still had something lodged in her belly. So we proceeded to the X-rays which showed nothing abnormal except an enlarged spleen.
During this time the vet had prescribed and dispensed serveral antibiotics, over $60 worth. I reported to him that she was no longer eating or drinking on her own, she was developing respiritory distress and declining rapidly. He still insisted that she had a blockage in her intestines, even though there was no evidence of it.
Finally, we took her to another vet. I brought with me the blood work, X-rays and medications. The new vet told us that the blood work alone indicated that she had tick fever. He also said that even without the bloodwork, based on her symptoms he would have immediately assumed tick fever, especially since it is so prevalent in this area. The medications that the Adobe clinic had dispensed to her were the wrong meds and were not helping her.
When I returned to the Adobe clinic with the meds that had been dispensed, two of which only had one pill missing, I was given $9 in return. When I questioned the difference from the $60 that we paid to $9, I was told that "They don't refund the DISPENSING fee". One of the meds dispensed to her was pepcid, 3 pills for $5, at the drugstore they cost about .20 per pill.

This vet killed my dog

It has been a year now since i went first to this vet. He told me that my dog just had a bladder infection. Well my beloved dog who was only 8 years old is dead. This man did not help my dog at all. A bladder infection is not gonna kill your dog that fast. He died within two weeks and the vet didnt care at all. No "Im so sorry" nothing. I tell everyone to NEVER take their animals to this vet unless they want their pet to die.

Adobe Animal Clinic is my first choice

I have been taking my 5 cats and 3 dogs to Adobe Animal Clinic since 2003, and I have to say they are simply the best when it comes their love and commitment towards animals.
I had a Cat that came down with Jaundice in 2010, and with a feedling tube inserted into her stomach Samantha bounced right back after 30days. Needless to say the price was half the cost, the TLC they gave Samantha was worth three times the amount.
I can even take you back to when I adopted a rescue from a non-kill shelter in Mesa, after a quick visit to the 24hr ER Hospital the diagnosis was Parvo and the estimated costs for treatment was $2,300. The next morning I took the puppy to Adobe and the end result I saved $1,200 for the same care, the same Inpatient Treatment.

Did you act rudely that day?

I am a consumer who has done business with Adobe Veterinary Clinic on many occasions. We have three pets, and we have never had a problem with Dr. Heitman, his staff, or the groomer who works there. In fact, this clinic is the best vet service we have ever had!
I have no doubt that there must be some kind of mistake arising from a misunderstanding. It is a shame that a google search places this negative report on the front page when this clinic is such an incredibly good organization with very competitive pricing.
