As an employee for a law enforcement agency, I am the point of entry location that inputs requests for law enforcement responses for residential and commercial alarms. On a daily basis, ADT's employees have a negative reputation. Initally, I must say this, "You get what you pay for" and it appears ADT pays minimum wage. The employees display the traits of illiterate and non-rational thinking people.
Example: Two major streets in our city are Industry and Commerce, which the employees transpose "Industrial and Commercial." Phonics are also not strong points, as a frequent alarms for "Clarita" are repeatedly called "Clara" and "Yvonne" is "Why-von." They also must not communicate with each other, as they will dispatch the same call for service within seconds or one will cancel an alarm and seconds later their own co-worker will also call to cancel not knowing it was already done. Also, they never have the police agency jurisdiction correct, always either attempting to dispatch calls for service to us for areas tens of miles away and when they call moments later to cancel the alarm (which wasn't ours in the first place) they either haven't changed the correct agency or don't read the correction.
I have been to home shows and when the cheesey salesmen try to sell me their service, They tend to get upset when I tell them the horror stories from my employment end and potential nearby customers walk away. We have also tried to correct the situation with ADT reps and nothing has improved.
Honestly, I don't know how they are still in business...

I am sure your job has typos, right?
I have worked at ADT for about a year and often I find that Street names that are wrong in the file are usually typos (or mis-info from the installers), and we can't just change those. We have a certain way we must deal with everything in those files or we can get into trouble.
As for saying a name wrong, I think it is really nit-picky. I *know* I mispronounce many of the Spanish language business names (and I do usually tell the PD operator/Tech at the time and spell it, also)
As for repeat calls...every time the alarm goes off, for Fire Alarms and every time a new zone trips for burglar alarms, we are *required* by policy to call. Call center operators have no control over that.
The jurisdiction change is very imperfect, and again we aren't allowed to make a permanent change and I am sure I have forgotten to change that info once or twice since I have been there (you have to do a temporary instruction and alert another area and they aren't always expedient about changing it, so sometimes that temporary instruction is gone by the next alarm event on that account)
My experience with Law Enforcement is usually nice, but sometimes you guys aren't the easiest to work in conjunction with either. I've had ops get really snippy when I am trying to give them the info I am *required* to give them and be very unprofessional when we have multiple calls for a system, yet funnily enough they like that feature when they are trying to trace a suspects movements at a premises.

I work in florida and Im sorry to say I have been working here for three months and I can assure you my pay is what you will make in 6 months at a time. Maybe thats what they pay there but not here in florida so please don't say that about all the employees. Also just because a person can't say a name right doesn't mean anything. I just moved from Michigan like three months ago and I didn't know the major roads here. How do you know they are not from around there or not? Do you see how big is california. I will get lost maybe after a couple of hours being there.
