I think I may have been scammed by Advanced Tech Support.  After having problems with my computer, I received a message block to "click here for scan" to identify adware, malware, etc.

I did so, and received 4600+ names.  Another message block appeared, which appeared to be from Microsoft, to click here for help to remove the items.  I did so, and for a mere $39.99, I believe it was, I could remove the infected items.  (I don't know if I'm even using the correct terminology.)

I clicked there, and then I was taken to Advanced Tech Support, and a very nice man, who remotely identified the problems and for $250 he could have a Certified Technician "fix" my computer and remove all the bad stuff.

For only $300 per year, he could install PANDA, a cloud protection which would keep my computer free of any future adware, malware, etc.

I think I ended up charging something like $700 for all the good stuff.  This kind gentleman also signed me up for free 90-day identity theft protection.  He was sending me emails with all my receipts, confirmations, information on the identity theft protection, etc., and I believe I actually saw those slide by on my screen.  He then referred my computer to a Certified Technician.  About four hours later, I received a call that my computer was fixed and I could use it again. I was so happy that I didn't have to take down my computer and take it in for service (two or three days, probably).  The $250 is for one year of unlimited service with Advanced Tech Support.

I never received the email confirmations and receipts.  Today, I called the number given to me by first kind gentlemen.  I held for 51 minutes after choosing #6 (other).  I called the number again, and chose #3 (problem with a previous matter).  I held 38 minutes.  I talked with someone who said he was resending all the emails.  He sent to two email addresses, and I told him I did not receive them.  He supposedly sent them again.  He said if I didn't receive them within one hour, call back.  Well, who has another hour and a half to go through that again?  It is about nine or ten hours later, and I still have not received a single email on either of the two email addresses I gave him.

I was thrilled earlier because my computer seems to be working quite well.  After I started researching Advanced Tech Support, it is sticking and hanging up.  The email address given doesn't work, and the contact info on their web site doesn't work.

I am wondering if this company actually exists.  I have received many, many emails in the last two days, but none from this company.  I complained about the customer service to the tech I spoke with today.  He supposedly spoke with his supervisor several times during our conversation, but I am not satisfied with their customer service.
