Editor’s Comment:05/22/2018-.  Ripoff Report believes in transparency and the more information the better.  In this instance, there has been court action regarding this subject Report.  We believe it important to note that not all Court Orders are alike.  Many court orders are absolutely legitimate and we make no representations about this court order situation However, we want our users to be aware that sometimes courts enter orders based upon default which typically means that the defendant didn’t show up.  Sometimes a defendant won’t show up because they didn’t even get notice of the case proceedings in the first place and other times defendants may not show up because they don’t necessarily have the knowledge and/or the financial resources to fight.  Still, in other instances, a defendant may simply appear only to stipulate (settle) the case by agreeing to stipulate to a court order because they are being bullied by the plaintiff and whether what they said was true or not, they just want the matter to go away so they can move on with life and make the plaintiff go away.  Again, we make no representations about this particular court order situation.  We are simply providing you with additional information so that you may be more informed and, coupled with any additional research you feel is necessary, may make your own informed decision regarding the validity of this Report.  As always, we encourage our readers to do their homework and not just rely on one single source for information.  Google, through the Lumen Database, has provided the following document relating to this subject Report:

As I mentioned, previously, this Mumbai based company has bought my delinquent account from American Express, and has been contacting me for approximately 2 months. A certain individual always called and when hung up on, called back right away, and continues to call back 5 or 6 times each time. In addition, the person has been contacting me at very odd hours. Just this morning, I was woken up at 5:30 AM! In addition the number at which he is now calling, is not even a phone that he is authorized to be calling but picked it up from his caller ID apparently after I saw his missed called on my cell phone and called to see who it was a few days back. This phone is actually not even in my name and is my mom's phone, and he's been disturbing everyone else in the house, aside from me.  I am unsure as to whether he has the right to call a number regularly based on what he found on his caller ID. Secondly and most importantly, 5:30 in the morning is unacceptable, and at this point, I am angered to the level that, not only do I refuse to work out any type of resolution or do any business with this agency, I plan on pursuing any type of legal assistance in reporting this agency.

Monica, why did you not pay American Express ????

AUTHOR: IamGood - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 06, 2009

Monica:

American Express was there for you when you used your charge card to buy goods, and purchase services.  They did not turn you down, and they have every right to expect  you to pay your bill.

You did not pay for 6 months, so they sold your account to  a group of people who have more persuavice means to get you to pay.   Trust Me I know, I used to work for a collection agency. I was relentless.   I once dug through someone's trash can after they threw out their garbage to find bank accounts in which to seize, and take all their money, after we filed a suit.

If you had tried to send them partial payments, they would have accepted those payments. (they would have closed your account, and kept you from charging more), but at least you would be doing the right thing.

If i were  you I would deal with them.  They can SUE YOU.  When they win their law suit against you, they will garnish your wages, and seize your bank accounts.

If you live in a state where they can garnish your wages, chances are they will sue you.
