January 13, 2008 Frank Franke arrives at the house and charges $65 to evaluate reception problem. Claims he must order part at $400 and then replace part at $265 labor. Insists on a deposit of $250. Six weeks elapse before part arrives. He replaces the part at the house on February 25th. He leaves the TV on. It seems to work. He presents a bill for $807.44 less the $250 deposit! This seems an overcharge but I don't confirm. I pay. Next morning same reception failure.

I insist that he return the $250 or so overcharge. He says he must collect the TV to evaluate at his shop. He collects the TV but does not return the $250 overcharge.

Months elapse. He cannot be reached by phone. Eventually I speak to his wife, "Annette." She tells me he is out of town on a family emergency. Another two months or so go by. Finally he answers his phone. He says TV can't be fixed without buying a part that costs as much as the TV did. I insist that he return the TV and the $807.48. He hedges. Eventually he offers to return the money but not the TV. I agree.

Then he disconnects his number and moves from his address, new address unknown. He has my TV. He has my money. I have no idea where he is.
