Affordable Moving Services ripoff Told me one price and are being charged $1400.00 more did not delivery when said Tampa Florida

There name is Movingservices.com I made the arrangements with a guy named Danny G. I also made a reservation with this movingservices.com to move my car in which I gave them a $75.00 deposit. I have since cancelled this with the company and they have not returned my deposit.

The quote I received from Moving Services.com for moving 426 cubic square feet of furniture was $1325.00 I moved only my beds which is 1 Queen, 1 full & 1 twin, 30 boxes, 1 wardrobe box, 1 freezer, a small tool box, my computer, and 1 picture box.

On the night the mover finally came, 1/27/03. He got to me house at 8:30pm, by his self. My boyfriend was there,and also two of my cousins, who helped the mover. They did most of the loading of items onto the truck, to include putting the Freezer on the truck. The truck was full of other peoples furniture, and my things just fit. The mover first put my beds on the truck to divide my things from the other items that was on the truck. He did not mark my things, so he could identify what items were mine.

Now that the truck was loaded, the driver comes in and we have to fill out the paper work. He says that his boss told him I had 850 square feet of furniture. The mover never measured a thing. He told me that this is what is boss told him, before he got there. The price is now $2,445.00. I was in shock. I asked him how can this be. I have no furniture with the exception of my 3 beds and a freezer, and how can this be so far off. Then the driver goes into saying that I will have to take it up with his boss.

I originally gave Moving Services.com a deposit of $472.00 toward this move, and was told by them, that upon the driver coming to my home I would have to give him an additional $475.00, and then the remaining balance would be due when my furniture would be delivered. The moving company also said I would receive a month free of storage. I only gave the driver $480.00, and the driver suggested that I contact his boss the next day, because the office was now closed.

First I called Movingservices.com and spoke with Danny G. He told me that he could do nothing and that what ever my problem was I had to take it up with the movers who have my things. So then I called Jo at Affordable Movings Services, and goes on to tell me that his driver measured the items on the truck (which he did not) and that was the measurements he came up with after he put everything on the truck. I told Jo to go ahead and move my things on 3/1/03 to my address and as of today I have nothing. Jo will not return my phone calls, so I have no idea when my things will be deliverd . There is more too this story but I am running out of room to write. so please contact me as soon as possible.
