Age Renew Age Renew Skin Care Tricked me! Greenville South Carolina

I got a popup while filling in an unrelated survey.   The popup said it was a trial for an AgeRenew Skin Care product and I would be charged for postage only.  I thought fair enough, if I like it I can buy more.

A little while later a bottle arrived.  I have to admit it wasn't the usual trial sized product you get from beauty counters but I thought maybe that is what they do as a trial.    I tried it - but it seemed to disappear on my skin and left my skin feeling dry.   End of trial I thought.

Didnt think much about it, until another bottle arrived.  I thought, "Oh no" I gave my card number for the trial and have I been tricked?

I went back and read the confirmation email for the trial offer, and right at the end of the email, in the small lighter text in the second paragraph, it says you've got 14 days from when you order item (not when you received it) to phone and cancel.   I looked and £84 and £89 was charged.    I felt sick.

I believe they should say upfront what the cost is and what the terms of the purchase are.  If they are selling a subscription and only give you 14 days to change your mind, that should be upfront and clear to the consumer.  Why would you hide it unless you are hoping to catch people out?

So to me this a scam and should be illegal.  

It has also caught many other people and I've seen their comments on a review website.  Pity I didn't do a google search beforehand.

Age Renew refuse to give be back the first payment (reading what is obviously a well used script over the phone) even though I've sent the item back hardly used along with an unopenned bottle of the second delivery. 

They say they will refund my money for the second bottle I've unopened and sent back, but I have not received a refund yet.....  I'm not holding my breath.
