AIS Auto Insurance Spec MERCURY INSURANCE Lie & Deceive the Customer from Day One San Jose California

I spoke with AIS INSURANCE Agent Scott to buy Auto insurance. I went over my current policy with him to line by line to ensure I received "Like for Like" Coverage. Scott informed me that Mercury was the Best company so I signed up. A week later I received my documents and found paperwork for exclusions and missing coverages I had requested. I spoke with two supervisors at AIS and they were apologetic but their position was they weren't on the phone and they don't know what was said. They also told me it would cost $50 to cancel. I advised the cancellation fee was not mentioned during the sale process and again they apologized and said they don't know what was said. I hung up and sought insurance with another company. When I notified AIS I wanted to cancel on the day I called I was told they had to cancel my insurance on the next day. They could not do same day cancellations even though I contacted them at 8:30am that morning. Any insurance company I have ever cancelled with did so on the same day or backdated the request. I was told I would receive a letter regarding my refund. After one week no letter so I contacted AIS. They spoke to Mercury billing and advised a refund of 10.00 was due. I advised I only used 8 days of the policy and requested a breakdown of the charges. I was transferred to Mercury billing and the girl could not give me any details about the breakdown of charges and how they determined a 10.00 refund. She was very dismissive and disingenuous when I questioned her and tried to send me back to customer care or the agent because she did not have any answers for me. My advice to everyone if you need Auto Insurance stay away from AIS & MERCURY INS. They work together to defraud customers and swindle you out of your money even when they begin the sales process with unclean hands. They are not reputable and they have no intention of righting their wrongs against customers.
