ALAN RIDDLE OF AJ BROTHERS FLOORING TOOK OVER A CONTRACT AND BASICALLY FORCED ME TO BUY DIFFERENT GOODS THAN I PURCHASED IN MY ORIGINAL CONTRACT. BY TAKING OVER A CONTRACT I SIGNED WITH HIS ASSOCIATE JERRY CIANFRINI OF DESIGNER CHOICE FLOORS. I TENDERED A $24,000 DEPOSIT TO HIS ASSOCIATE JERRY CIANFRINI WHO WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AFTER TAKING $24,000.00 DEPOSIT ON A FLOOR. I THEN FIND CIANFRINI, WITH ALAN RIDDLE ENTERPRISES, DBA AJ BROTHERS HARDWOOD FLOORING. RIDDLE TAKES OVER MY CONTRACT AND MY $24,000 DEPOSIT, FORCES ME TO TENDER ANOTHER 20,000 TO BUY AN INFERIOR PRODUCT AND NOT THE PRODUCT I ORIGINALLY CONTRACTED WITH HIS ASSOCIATE. I SIGN THE CONTRACT UNDER DURESS THAT I WAS IN TOTAL JEOPARDY OF LOSING MY ORIGINAL $24,000.00.
I WAS ALSO OVERCHARGED BECAUSE ALAN RIDDLE LIED ABOUT THE SQUARE FOOTAGE HE WOULD INSTALL FOR THE PRICE AND THEN AGAIN FORCED ME TO FORK OVER ADDITIONAL MONEY TO FINISH THE JOB. (What choice did i have? 80% of his product was installed and i needed it done.) Because he sold me an inferior product, he told me that he would come back within 10 yrs if i wanted him to refinish these floors FOR FREE???? (what guarantees do i have he will be in business?) his associate Cianfrini just went out of business under Designers Choice in Floors at the DCOTA.
After all the money he collected on the job, 100% of what he was entitled to for the square footage he put down in our house, he then refuses to admit that he installed floor in areas not called for, refuses to admit that he did not supply 2,350 square feet of floor, AND HAS THE NERVE TO PUT A LIEN ON MY HOUSE FOR $2,450.00.
UNDER DURESS AND NOW GOING TO SUE HIM FOR DAMAGES. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!! IN MY OPINION HE IS NOT ONE TO DO BUSINESS WITH!

RE: CLIENT TOM ZAZZARINO - RIP OFF REPORT.
I, Alan Riddle, Owner of AJ BROTHERS Hardwood Flooring & Stairs, would like to take a moment to explain to anyone that is actually taking the time to read this report, the facts of the case according to my side.
Jerry Cinafrini of DESIGNERS CHOICE IN FLOORS (DCOTA) had closed his business due to the down turn of the economy. AJ BROTHERS Hardwood floors then hired Jerry Cianfrini as a Sales Representative for our Company.
There were a few jobs that were outstanding, (i.e) monies deposited with DESIGNERS CHOICE IN FLOORS, who were at the risk of their monies. As we have been around for many years, and will continiuie to stay in business providing excellent service to our clients, we had spoken with Tom Zazzarino and agreed to a meeting to try to complete this project with what moneys were left. This was in hope to get Tom's future business and to keep relations good between Tom Zazzarino and Jerry Cianfrini.
Tom, Jerry & Myself had met in my office to discuss what options Tom would have going forward. I offered Tom to take over the contract and complete the job with the 50% that was left in the job. Obviously 50% left in a job, is not enough to complete the entire job with materials and labor, seeing as no labor or materials were done at that point. Jerry Cianfrini then agreed with me to reimburse AJ BROTHERS Hardwood Flooring for the balance needed to complete Tom's job.
At this point Tom had the choice to continue the Contract with AJ BROTHERS Hardwood Flooring or seek legal action against Jerry Cianfrini & DESIGNERS CHOICE IN FLOORS.
Tom Choose to go with letting AJ BROTHERS Hardwood Flooring & Stairs help remedy the situtation between Tom & Designers Choice In Floors.
The product that Tom was sold originally, was a handscraped distressed solid wood floor from, I believe, "Patina".
We offered Tom to make the same product that "Patina" was offering because we could keep it in house and keep the cost down, in order to do the job with such low margins.
Tom wanted to be assured that he was getting the best product on the market.
I then informed Tom, that an Engineered Floor was better than a Solid Floor, due to the dimensional stability of the plywood backing. I then also informed Tom that this Engineered product itself would be more money and if he choose to go this way there would be an extra cost involved.
He decided to go this route.
AJ BROTHERS Hardwood Floors then proceeded to order the materials and work on Tom's floors. The job proceeded smoothly and Tom made all payments according to schedule. At the end of the job we came up short of wood flooring, or so we thought. We contracted with Tom Zazzarino for 2350 sqft. We measured twice, Tom measured Twice and we all came up with the same number. The 2350 sqft was based on all rooms being done, EXCEPT the upstairs media room. As my men were working, they were told by Tom and his forman Peter, that the wood flooring were to be installed in all rooms; Including the media room. We installed 2350 sqft with waste. Therefore there was one room left that did not get installed due to lack of materials. I then spoke with Jerry & Tom, and we agreed to split the cost 3-Ways to cover the last room that the materials missing for.
Upon completion of the final room, all materials and labor were furnished and supplied from AJ BROTHERS Hardwood Flooring and the job was completed.
Tom agreed to meet me on a Friday afternoon to give me the final payment.
I waited for over two hours but Tom did not show. I then tried to contact him repeatedly. He finally answered a week and a half later and stated that many erroneous things that did not make sense.
All payments were made and the work was done without question of craftsmanship. The floors were inspected and approved by both Tom and Peter. When it came time for final payment, Tom simply stated "SUE ME".
The balance is small, less than $3000, however, I simply will not let this go. I Then filed a lien against the property and now will seek out other legal options to recover these monies owed.
I still can not understand why Tom would raise such erroneous claims agains a company that did everything in their power to solve a deal that had gone bad between two other parties, and actually delivered what was chosen.
Moral of the Story, no good deed goes unpunished.
Sincerely,
Alan T. Riddle NWFA CI, CSF, CWFI*

RESPONSE TO JERRY CIANFRINI REBUTTAL
AUTHOR: Thomas Louis - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, March 20, 2010
This rebuttal was obviously filed by Jerry Cianfrini of Designers Choice Floors who is now associated with AJ Brothers Harwood Flooring. Mr. Cianfrini States he wants to get the facts straight but now has even further nerve to distort the truth.
LETS GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT:
1. In Mr. Cianfrinis Rebuttal he states that i was offered the original floor from AJ Brothers which is a complete LIE. Jerry took my $24,000.00 deposit never ordered the floor and went out of business, I will consider now pressing criminal charges against Cianfrini for his misconduct. I was then told by Alan Riddle and Cianfrini that the only way they could get me a product that was "just as good" as the floor i ordered would have to be made by them instead of the factory because the prefinished floor from the factory was too expensive for them to buy and keep my contract price the same. I was then steered into an engineered floor that would be "even better" for me for an additioinal cost. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TOO TRY, IF I DIDNT LISTEN TO THEM, MY ENTIRE $24,000 was lost. TALK ABOUT DURESS!!!
2. Cianfrini does not address the fact the AJ BROTHERS WAS PAID IN FULL for all the work completed on the job anyway. When the floor was measured at the end of the job, we only received 2,175 square feet of floor and the contract called for 2,350 square feet of floor, plus i have AJ Brothers "guarantee" that they will come back and rescreen the floors for free within 10 years?
Bottom Line, Cianfrini is a dishonest man who knew he was going out of business, stole my money and never used it ethically to purchase the materials for our job and never offered to returnthose funds. then after being paid every single dollar they were owed, they even wanted to chisel me for more. BEWARE!!

tom zazirino purchased a floor for his new spec house in ft.lauderdale fl. from designers choice he deposited 50% of the contract and his floor was going to be made in a factory in colorado. six months later due to the downturn in the housing industry designers choice closed. aj brothers who was a subcontractor of designers choice agreed to complete tom's contract.
the three of us tom, myself and alan the owner of aj brothers had a meeting at alan's shop in boca raton fl., to discuss tom's options and the payment of the remaining 50% due on the original contract. tom was given a choice of the original floor as contracted or alan could make him the same product at his shop locally. we discussed the option of using an engineered floor at an additional cost. for it's inherent qualities over a solid floor. tom agreed to go with the engineered floor.
tom is a graduate of villanova university. he has over 20 years experience in the real estate industry and would be considered an expert in his field. to have met, discuss for over an hour, agree and then end up with this is perplexing.
the floors have been completed for months, tom paid all the draw payments as scheduled until the last payment was due he scheduled a meeting at his home for a final walk through not only did he not come he did not return alan's calls after two weeks, alan liened the job and this is when this report was filed.
the bottom line here is tom has a beauitiful floor finished with the best products in our industry. pay your bill and move on with your life.
