I too have had a similar run-in with Alex at Akvatek. I am opening a small cafe and they offered the perfect pastry case for my shop online on http://www.refrigeration-equipment.com/bakery_.html
The item is color customizable and I attemped to order one online 2 monts ago. I got to the end of the order process and hit the "next" button thinking i could choose color options, but instead it submitted my information. I called and spoke with Alex, the manager, and explained that i would like to cancel the order just placed (i did not want to use my personal credit card anyway, and it would be a week before i received the business card) So, Alex promptly canceled my order and we discussed color options and that when I received the credit card I wanted to order with, to give him a call back to re-order.
A week later I called back and he asked me to fax him the canceled order sheet i had printed and put credit card number and info of choices on this sheet and fax it to his personal fax machine to re-order. I did so immediately and went about putting the rest of my shop together, happy with my purchase.
I noticed a week later that there was no charge on my card from the company so i called to make sure that Alex had received my fax/order. I was told by another employee that answered the phone that "he says yes, he did, and the case has been ordered" Another week passed, still no deposit taken from my card. I called and this time left a voice mail- no response, next day, same thing, left message w/ admin asst- no response. This went on for a few weeks. I used the "live chat" on their website and "chatted" w/ Alex, he stated that he was not sure about that order and he would call me back tomorrow. NO RESPONSE. 2 Days later, same "live chat" I was told, "I'll check into it and get in touch tomorrow"...guess what....! NO RESPONSE. 3 days later i called and finally got Alex on the phone- "that case is no longer avaliable, would you like a different one?" This was 2 months after i placed my order. I asked for a discount on the one offered and he said, "I can't do that." Well, that angered me even more. Only a vague and a very non-understanding apology, AND no discount??? I told him never mind, and that I would spread the word about his company. He said, "Ok, thank you."
I called back an hour later and asked the woman who answered the phone, for the owners name and number. She sounded nervous and put me on hold. I was "disconected" after 1 minute. I called back and spoke to another guy (name?) He stated that the co. was owned by "a woman in Europe" I asked for names and numbers and this guys hung up on me. I called back and got Alex this time, he told me that he could not give me a name or number of the owner, that we was "not allowed to" !!! WHAT!!?! He tried to then say to me that he didnt understand why i was so upset.
I explained that i would have to delay the opening of my shop. He didnt seem to understand why b/c he was offering me another case. I told him I would like a discount for my troubles, and he refused. He then tried to blame ME for canceling that first order and denied that I ever re-ordered, that sending him my credit card info and specifications to his personal fax as he asked me to do, was not an order!!! Then he tried saying maybe he didnt order it b/c the credit card no. i gave him was invalid!!! Then he tried saying that he never had an order from me at all! I cut the conversation off there and asked again for the owner, his boss, the person who signs his check's name and number. He refused and said if I wanted to take this further i would just have to look up this info online.
Well, in all of the nearly 20 websites they have under different names, i cannot find any info at all on who to report their horrible customer service and SERVICE IN GENERAL to.
