Akvatek Enterprises - WDP Refrigeration - Sno-White Coolers double charges questionable ethics shipping scams and more Miami Florida

On July 31 we ordered a walk-in refrigeration unit from Akvatek based on a quote provided by Alex Viktoro. In accordance with the quote we remitted a 40% deposit on July 31.

After a few weeks and when we had not heard from Akvatek we contacted them as to the status of the order. We were assured it was complete and would be shipped as soon as they received final payment including shipping. We overnighted the final payment and shipping which received by them on 8/28. On 8/30 I called to confirm they received the payment which they had and Alex confirmed the unit would be shipped on 8/31. After not hearing from any freight company in a week I called Alex again to confirm shipment. Again he said it was on it's way.

When the unit arrived and the shipping papers confirmed the shipping date was 9/13. Two full weeks after he said it was in transit. During that time we tried to contact him and he refused to take all of our calls during that period because he knew he had lied to us. So the easy way out it to ignore the situation as he has done with any problem we had to that point.

Well not only was it late but ALL 16 panel of the unit were damaged and the mechanical parts (R-22 refrigeration componets) were not included. We find this type of damage particularly interesting since the panels were shrink wrapped together and even the ones in the middle were dented, scrapped and scratched, totally unusable. Even more amazing is these 16 foot panels were stacked on a single pallet about five foot wide then shrink wrapped together. What a joke for packing.

We contacted Akvatek immediately and were told it was our problem to contact the freight company and file an insurance claim with them. He said the R-22 unit was in transit from the factory.

On 9/23 we got a partial shipment from UPS. Again we called Akvatek and again it's not their problem. We were told to make an insurance claim on UPS for the rest of the R-22 unit. I spoke with UPS about the shortage. UPS researched it and found one package which was then returned to us but one of the packages is still out there somewhere. We wanted to file a claim but UPS said only Akvatek could make a claim. Of course they did and Akvatek was paid for the missing parts by UPS and by us.

I have filed a claim with the freight company for the panels and it was refused. They refuse on the grounds that the items were improperly packaged and their history of numerous claims by Akvatek customers. Actually this freight company will no longer accept any shipments from Akvatek.

We had to by another walk-in unit and we did fulfill our contract but at twice the cost. We tried to work with the BBB to no avail.

Our opinion is that his scam is to ship damaged goods, put it off on the insurance companies, then sell his customers new panels at inflated prices.

So here we are, Akvatek, WPD Refrigeration, Sno-White Coolers, which ever name they use, has taken us for a total of $6404.05.

If they would be willing to even try to make a customer happy none of us would be in this situation.

Pay us and we'll gladly let everyone know you do have a business where customer satification does count.
