I am also a victom of a fast talking false promises making staff of Al Collins Graphic Design School. There financial department promised me I would be making lots of money and that so many of there students had these great jobs by way of ACGDS job placement services.

They also presented to me a lot of forms to sign that showed how much money I would get to pay my tuition. and that I had nothing to worry about when it came time to pay the money back. They told me I had 6 mos. after graduation before I would have to start making payments and that I would be working in my field making lots of money to pay back the loans.

I applied for several Jobs and they all wanted someone with at least 1-2 yrs experience.

when I recieved my bill to start my payments my loans were twice the amount of the initial loans. I have been working on trying to repay my loans but I just can't see how I'm ever going to pay these loans.

I am almost 40 and a mother of 6 children my husband works 2 jobs and we are trying to put one of our kids through college now. I just don't know what I'm going to do.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

..this company is indeed a ripoff

Loans are expensive because of the interest rate. No school should be blame for the school loans you must pay back. In our decision to decide to attend school, we must think further than our nose and realize whatever is borrowed must be paid back.

Everyone should take the opportunity to better themselves by gaining knowledge to help them in the real world however, we must realize that either you should work and earn the money for your tuition or you should attend a school where a grant that does not have to be repaid is sufficient to cover the cost of your schooling. Being 44 years of age, I have learned some things the hard way. I too, am in school and will have to pay back over $60,000 in school loans. Now, I wish that I had paid my way, however, I felt I could not afford it. Oh well, I borrowed the money and I knew before I borrowed it, I would have to pay it back, therefore, I am willing to work a second job if necessary to pay back what I borrowed.

In order to gain experience, you may have to obtain an entry level position first. In that position, you must sell yourself by the skills and knowledge that you possess. This may mean doing some or all of the following: a part time home business or creating a newsletter for the company where you work where you can show the kind of skills you have for graphic designing, business cards, flyers, etc. Surf the net for positions available for graphic designs, check the newspaper, decide if you can relocate or work online; I hope someone will be helped by what I have said. In conclusion, if this company is indeed a ripoff, I feel that in time they shall reap the benefits of being crooked. Thanks for the opportunity to express myself.
