I paid Al Piemonte Chevrolet in East Dundee $1,547 to ruin my engine and $1,749 to fix it. I have been a customer of Al Piemonte for around 20 years. I brought my 2001 Chevy Impala to the service dept. on 2/23/2008 because it was hesitating when shifting st slow speeds. At 50 MPH, it ran fine.
I was told it needed a new catalytic converter and oxygen sensor, which were under warantee. Also, I needed a new head gasket and some other minor repairs because there was an oil leak. I was told the car was ready on 2/25, but they wanted to keep it for an extra day to make sure it was "running right." I picked it up on 2/26 and paid over $1,500.
The sales department offered to trade my car in on a mini van, but the price he quoted was for that day only. I told him that I don't make snap decisons and I left. When I got home I was surprised to see the same mini van on the Piemonte website for $2,000 less.
I was surprised to find the car jerking on the way home. The next day I drove my wife to work, 4 miles from my home. The jerking and knocking grew worse, so I drove directly to Piemonte. From the time I picked it up and drove back, I drove less than 20 miles.I was told the engine wasn't worth saving and I must have "done something".
The sales department now told me it was too bad I didn't take his offer of a trade in because now my car wasn't worth anything. When I asked who's fault that was, he said his business is totally seperate from the repair dept.and they never work together.
The person in repair, told me Piemonte would provide me with a re-built engine, but I had to pay $1,800 in labor to have it put in. If I ruined the engine, why was Piemonte "giving" me another one?
The staff at Piemonte knew that I am totally disabled and my wife and I share the only car we have. They gave me no choice.
Al Piemonte Dundee charged me $1,547 to ruin my car and charged me $1,749 to fix it. Al Piemonte ripped me off.

I received a check from Al Piemonte Chevy just as they promised.
I would like to thank Lou Carusso helping get the refund. I will continue to do business with them, and would reccommend them to anyone looking for service on their car because they are honest and do help out their customers
Thank you Joe and lethat made this possible for us.

I received a phone call from The new Service Manager at Al Piemonte Chevy saying that they would not want to lose me as a loyal cuctomer.
He told me that I needed to put an update in RIP-OFF REPORTS and if I would continue to be a loyal customer, i agreed, I never had any problem with them before this.
I called him back about 2weeks or so after our conversation and he said I had not put in an update yet. Once I did that he would make sure I received my check for the original cost of my repair $1546.82.
I went into the hospital for the past few weeks and the person I asked to update for me did it wrong. So now I am updating it again.
I still haven't received my check, however when I do I will be more than happy to post that they lived up to their word
