Owner Nidal Barakat and his apartment manager Eli Arce have an extensive history of filing eviction notices to residents when they are past three days late.  They then charge the resident the filing fee, claiming it is $492 when in fact it is $250.  They've no cause to file eviction notices when rent is just a week late or so.

They refuse to return security deposits and refuse to make repairs, making the residency virtually uninhabitable.  Myself and several others are now in the midst of a class action discrimination case.

Do NOT move in here.  It is not worth the stress and will greatly and negatively impact your life.  The owner represents himself in court, if you are given an eviction notice you yourself then must file a filing fee.  The units are in disrepair.  Mine had the dishwasher blocked by the stove and for the course of over forty emails in five months they simply lied and lied about either replacing the stove with a smaller stove, fixing the dishwasher or lowering the rent.  When I put the rent into an account and let them know it was there in an escrow account for when they fixed the issues, they then charged me a late fee and filed an eviction notice.  I won  the eviction but it was not without lawyer fees and the costs of moving.  He wanted to hold me to my lease and have me move out.  The man is not honest.  In spite of my emails he sat with a negotiator and just denied things that had transpired and were cearly documented.
