My daughter attended All American Fitness gym while she was visiting Broken Arrow.  She got a free 7-day VIP pass.  At the end of the 7 days, she was given a massive sales pitch trying to lock her into a 2-year contract.  She explained that she was not living in the area, and only going to be there for a couple of months.  She asked if she could go month-to-month and pay for those 2 months.  They asked her all kinds of questions, and typed in responses to their computer.  At the end, they asked her to sign on a digital scanner a couple of times (kind of like the ones at Walmart), and she paid for the first month.

After she left Oklahoma, All American Fitness continued to bill her (sending her bills to one of her customers, the only address they had on file).  All American Fitness claimed they had a binding 2-year contract with her, and sent her a printed copy of the contract, where they clearly had affixed the digital signatures.  All attempts to be reasonable with this company have failed.  Please be aware of any contracts you are signing, and make sure you read printed agreements, before signing anything.  Do not use their digital scanners.  I would strongly recommend against any kind of membership with this company.

Similar experience with AAF

AUTHOR: Geon - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 13, 2012

I have to agree with the original complaint entered since I had a very similar experience with All American Fitness.  I went in to see a new facility and was given the tour of the place by a young man.  He went on to tell us how for a certain monthly membership fee we would get usage of all their facilities and access to personal trainers and how they would do an assessment of our current condition and help us track our progress and set goals and such things.  Well, we were very impressed by all that was promised to us (especially the personal trainer sessions).

So we signed up that day and made an appointment to have our assessment done, it was scheduled for 5 days later.  So we went in for our appointment and we were shown a series of plans that included personal trainer sessions and the costs associated with them.  We did a double-take since we had been told our membership would include this already and we were there, in fact, for our assessment, not a sales pitch for personal training.  Well, we were very discouraged and disappointed since at that point we realized the membership cost wasn't what we wanted to pay for a fitness club membership to only use their equipment.  So we asked for everything to be cancelled and the staff that was working that night acted as if all was cancelled and there was no harm, no foul.  We NEVER shed one single drop of sweat in their facility and we never even touched their equipment, not once!!

Well, about two months later I get a letter saying my payment is due, I call to let them know all was cancelled and they acted as if they had made a mistake.  A couple months after that I get a payment book from some ABC collections company, I call them and they inform me that they are collecting for AAF.  I call AAF and I spoke to some "Sue Smith"...  VERY rude person.  She has no soul, she has no shame, she has no morals.  Even thogh I went back to that same facility and placed a call to her and she heard the manager say very clearly that the young man who sold us our membership had been let go because he was promising more than what the packages included and that he was pushing the whole personal trainer angle on a lot of people to get them to sign up.  She heard the very manager of that facility say those words and she stuck to her guns that I had signed a contract and that I had three days to cancel it and those days had come and gone and I was stuck with a two-year contract with them...

I have received countless threatening letters from AAF, from that same "Sue Smith", as well as calls from her.  Always threatening me that they're going to take me to court but never do.

This company is one of the worst companies to do any type of business with since they lie to get you to sign-up for their services and then they don't make it right.  They don't even try to be reasonable.  I even tried to settle with them by offering to pay for the first month of the membership since I "went in" but never used their equipment, that was not acceptable to them.  They wanted me to pay the full two years right at that moment.  Very unreasonable and unfair.

Very disappointed one-time client who will never ever again even do as much as look in AAF's direction.

Thank you for reading this and I wish everyone the best of luck in dealing with such unprofessional and unreasonable people.

3 Day Cancellation and the Oklahoma Health Spa Act

AUTHOR: Jessica Magyar - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, July 09, 2012

All American Fitness wants everyone to understand 100% the membership they purchase.  Every member who joins gets a copy of their agreement immediately for them to look over.  Very clearly in bold print on every agreement is our 3-Day Cancellation, which means they have 3 days to cancel their agreement, with a full refund.

We've had the 3 Day Cancellation Policy in our agreements for over 30 years.  In fact, All American helped to pass the Oklahoma Health Spa Act, which made the 3 Day Cancellation Law; it also set up the licensing and bonding for all health clubs, and All American Fitness were the first to be licensed and bonded in the state.

If you would contact me at Mary@AllAmericanFitness.net with your daughter's pertinent membership information, I would be happy to look into this situation for you to see if there is anything I can do to help.
