I own a BMW. I was driving it with my friend and it started surging and just dying. The transmission wouldn't shift. So I had it towed to "All American Transmission Repair" on Fountain View on Saturday. They were closed. I was hoping they would work on my car when they returned.
My friend dropped me by on Sunday, my car was gone. "Big Bob" was there as they were decorating the office for Christmas. I said, "Where's my car?" "I had it towed here to be worked on?" With a straight face, he told me it was okay, that he owned the tow truck company that towed my car and there would be no charge. He then took my information down.
He also has no "tow signs" anywhere on his property, so towing me was illegal. But what bothered me the most was the fact I towed the car there to have it worked on. Its like dropping someone off at the emergency room and someone driving them off somewhere else. It ranks as one of the dumbest business moves ever.
After I contacted the Houston Police department, they told me where to go. I went and got my car out of the tow yard for $260. "Big Bob" did not own this tow company, it was a large privately owned tow company.
I then had my car towed back to another mechanic who fixed the car. "Big Bob" advertises that "Honesty is our Policy". Its a shame he bold faced lied to me and illegally towed me. My screwup was I didn't take him to Harris County Tow Court, where if someone doesn't have a towing policy posted, they have to reimburse you.
I can't speak to the quality of work, since I didn't have my car worked on there, and I'd cut my arm off before I went back there. But the owner's characteristics of "honesty" were apparent to me.

Oh Big Bob he likes to be called is a Big piece of SH*T! He likes to charge for repairs that were'nt done. I stoped payment on a so called repair because this piece of s**t never fixed my car. The car has been sitting up now for 9 months. I can't wait to go back to court on All American Transmission. Stay away from this so called repair shop. BEWARE!!!!

What would I gain by calling but more denial? But are you saying to all the good readers that you will reimburse me for the tow if I contact you and provide the tow ticket proving I was towed from your property? That would be an impressive gesture, it would go a long way in proving you're a "stand up" guy. I would update this report stating you reimbursed me and didn't have to.
Regarding your last statement, "As a side note, there is a BMW repair facility next door; are you sure you did not park it illegally and the City of Houston had it towed?"
Here's where you backslid a bit. Not sure how a compound sentence with BMW repair facility and City of Houston make your point, but let me address those anyway:
Two things here:
1) The City of Houston and/or the Police will NOT tow cars off private property and they would NEVER tow cars from a business that repairs cars, how would they know which one is there for repairs? Call HPD to confirm at 713-308-8580.
2) The BMW repair facility you are referring to is called Munich Motorwerke and is located at 3415 Fountainview Drive. It is next door to your shop and it has a tall wrought iron fence completely surrounding the property. That fence is locked after hours and it would be impossible to park there or halfway on their property or whatever else you might be alluding to.
If you want to reimburse me for the tow please post that you will. Thank you.

This does not make sense. I don't recall any of this transaction and I certainly did not have a customer's car towed away from my shop. Please provide a tow ticket with the address listed on the tow company's paperwork. As a side note, there is a BMW repair facility next door; are you sure you did not park it illegally and the City of Houston had it towed? PH: 713-784-0800
