Talk about four hours late with men overworked leaving little energy to complete my job .Frank then suggested to change our original agreement of two men and a truck for $119 an hour, suggesting a third man would be much faster and I would be pleased for $139 an hour . What a rip off Pensacola Florida

The first 45 minutes The living room love seat was The only item moved from the home to the truck , The third guy he suggested didn’t leave the truck area to assist the original to man for the job. I contacted Frank the suppose it Owner to update him with my concerns about production considering we were working on an hourly basis. I called the office and expressed my concern , Frank called me back very on businesslike. He did not care to adjust the cost or hourly rate. I also took photo documentation. He was very hostile and informed me that he normally charges $189 an hour. I expressed to him that if that is what he is worth he should I charge that from the beginning. After calling with concerns, two of the three men did pick up the pace. The third guy was of no value, staying with the actual truck almost the entire job. Once the truck was filled for the first shipment , We then headed to the new location. They pulled in my driveway opened up the truck and then requested for me to pay the balance. I paid a deposit of $250 upfront and expected to pay the $119 for gas charges that they originally informed me of. As I went to settle up with employee, I was been being charged a balance of $667. The movers worked at my location from start to finish a total of three hours and 45 minutes that’s including 30 minutes of bickering between me and the owner Frank that was basically ripping me off. He told me I could either pay the remaining balance of $667 after a $200 $250 deposit or he would close the truck take my belongings to his storage lot and which I would pay $500 a night fine. I would like to add at the end of this whole ordeal I paid almost $1000 for one truck of the longings to be moved basically bedroom furniture in living room furniture. On top of that, Frank the owner basically told me that I could pay $500 and they would drop my belongings in the driveway. My friends and I spent the next two days moving in private vehicles. This company is dishonest, and a total scam. Companies like this should be shut down and kicked out of our town. Please heed my warning and do not, I repeat do not hire this company. The only positive thing about this company was the lead man Mike, he showed compassion when Frank did not.

Tricked into changing original agreement prior to services by owner Frank. Then charged unfair and unacceptable moving charges. Even after making concern complaints to the office about production, I was charged Waymore than originally agreed upon. I was forced to pay an unfair amount in order to receive my belongings that were being held captive on their moving truck. This company needs to be put out of business for unfair business practices. Where I come from, These companies are considered as thieves and scam artists. Who gets protection when needed, I consider this to be theft of services.

3rd Mover Is Always a Good Idea

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 04, 2017

What you consider a worthless job is actually one of the more important jobs for a local move and makes your move go faster.  It leaves the other 2 guys to simply move the items out of the house, stage the items near the truck, or at least load them, while the 3rd guy on the truck you devalued so much, positions the furniture on the truck.  The 3rd guy will also take the time to protect your furniture loaded on the truck, while the other 2 guys are continuing the move.  Without the 3rd guy, the other 2 individuals have to stop the move, climb onto the truck, load the item(s) to be moved, rearrange what's in there, then protect the items, move a piece of furniture, stop, then rearrange in the truck, move one piece, and then stop and rearrange again, each time having to stop the move to perform this function etc...  You remember when you said the move started going a little faster after you spoke to the guy on the phone?  No, they started moving faster with the 3rd guy doing what he was paid to do on the truck.  In a local move, YOU only had two responsibilities - (1) to not interfere while the move was going on, and (2) give the guys bottled water (cold) while the move was ongoing.  The guys you demeaned are easily the most underpaid and hardest working people in a moving company - period.  You may have hated the guy you were speaking to but based on what you wrote, he did just fine for you.  Did you tip the guys who did your move??

I would have estimated your move at around $1,000 for 3 guys to do your move (a 4 hour minimum) including windshield time of about one hour at 2X rate.  That's pretty standard for the industry.  If the move takes more than 4 hours, you would be charged more.  By your own admission, you dragged the move out an additional one-half hour (probably more based on what you wrote) with your worthless bickering, so you basically added at least $100 to the cost of your own move for no reason.  And no, they didn't commit a hostage-load situation; those only happen in interstate moves.  You were in breach of your agreement.

It's rare when I say this for a move complaint, but you ripped yourself off.  A move is not inexpensive, even a local move, and the stress on a local move is not on you, it's on the guys doing the moving.
