I had the same sad experience with these folks. All-Star Marketing/Advantage. Recieved an email from my resume post on monster.com stating that I fit what they were looking for and to contact them. The first two times I called I got some sex thing and thought that was odd, but finally got through to a Lindsey. Drove 100 miles to interview with Lindsey in Huntsville, AL. I was told to call Kevin Many, District Sales Manager the following day at 9:30 AM for a second (phone) interview. Called and Kevin Many wasn't available so Larry O'Brien, who answered the phone, said he would take over and asked me some easy questions that were disclosed in the folder Lindsey gave me. Larry O'Brien told me to put a list together of 20-25 high school and colleges within 5 minutes to 1 hour away from Birmingham with nice shopping areas close by and to email it to him. Then to call him and we would have a "trial day" calling on these accounts. I knew something was fishy about this whole job opportunity. O'Brien reminded me of a northern, cocky, super agressive sales person who would shove anything down anyone's throat. There were also many tip offs that lead me to eventully find out who they were. These were the tips: Google turned up nothing that coincided with All-Star Marketing (only other companies, same name, diff. phone, address, etc.), Lindsey had no card and said it was in the folder but it wasn't, they mispelled words in their letter and hand outs, like "Russel" as in Russell Athletic Brand and Under "Amour" as in Under Armour, odd phone #, odd office, odd acting, odd handouts with rediculous sales presentation and sales objection answers, seemed to rush everything. What finally convinced me that something was wrong is after I spoke with Larry O'Brien and the so called "trial day". I mean, really, who is going to pick up some unknown guy and drive him around all day to make a bunch of sales calls without any guarantee of a job or expense reimbursement. I'm glad I finally dug enough to find out what this is all about. Thanks to the other people who posted this scam on Ripoff Report!
