We signed a contract with Tom and Marria Altavilla, to move me from Spring Hill, Florida on Aug. 25, 2011.

to Western New York.  The requirement was 1/2 down ($625) before the move, which was supposed to take place Sept. 22 at 7 a.m.  Balance of $625 was payable upon delivery in New York.

12 hours prior to move, Marria sent an email, indicating due to "mechanical failure" the move will not take place.  She then indicated to call to cancel and refund money, or call to reschedule.  Panic mode set in as we were flying to N.Y. that afternoon.  Several attempts to reach them by phone and email, went unanswered.  We scurried to find another mover and a car carrier to make te move.  Altavillas agreed to take vehicle and belongings.  This gave us even greater expense.

Weeks went by, no calls.  Got an email stating finally she was sending a money order to refund our money, after I had threatened to take legal action.   On Sept. 27th we received a money order for $325, with a note stating balance of $300 will be sent by Nov 4th.  I sent a message it was unacceptable as it was a deposit, it was supposed to be returned in FULL, it was not supposed to be touched.

Still nothing as of today, December 6th, contacted Evans Police Dept, who are in contact with Canton, Ohio Police.  Still unresolved.  So beware, do not use these people.   They are very deceptive and thieves.  Who would call 12 hrs. prior to move and cancel.  You do whatever you need to do to get the job done.  Oh, the check needed to be made out to them, Tom Altavilla, not the company, but we memoed 12 down for deposit of move FL-NY.  Stay away from them or you too can get burned!!
