All Victory Moving and Storage of Chatsworth, CA moved my household and personal belongings from San Diego, CA to Tampa, FL. They picked my things up on July 21, 2005 and delivered them on August 19, 2005. The price they charged me was over two thousand dollars more than the estimate, they arrived 5 hours late on pick up day in an enterprise rental truck, not an All Victory moving van as I was told, and delivered two weeks late to Florida. Steve and Marina were my contact people at All Victory Moving and Storage. I had been told by Steve that my items would be delivered on 8/6/05. They were not.

Whenever I called Marina or Steve to find out if the truck had left California, I was given the run around. I was told by Marina that she did not know when the truck would leave, or when I would get my things. When I asked who owned the company as I wanted to file a complaint, she said she did not know. I have since found out that Marina is one of the three people who own the company. She also did not know the name of the dispatcher, the only person she said knew when the truck would leave California. I have found out his name is Avi, another owner of the company, and Marina's husband.

Most importantly, All Victory Moving and Storage lost some of my boxes somewhere between the warehouse in Chatsworth, CA and my home in Tampa, Florida. I was told by the driver, an Israeli man name Meyer, or Maier, or Mayer, or something like that, and his partner Levi, that they made deliveries in Arizona, Texas, Louisiana and parts of northern Florida. When they delivered my belongings they were not in an All Victory moving van, but an Atlas moving van. Meyer said he had deliveries for many different moving companies on his truck. Steve told me only All Victory customers items would be on the truck.

What is really bad is that Meyer and Levi would not allow me to check off my boxes against my item list/contract as they brought items into my house. They said that they did not have time for that they were Jews, that it was Friday, the Sabbath, that it was getting dark, and they had to leave immediately. I was told if anything was missing to file a claim within 30 days. Meyer insistent on final payment in cash. I was told by Steve and Marina to pay by postal money order. On both ends the person supervising the workers insisted that they be tipped 10% of the total cost of the move. This hit me like a brick. I was not told by Steve or Marina that there would be a gratuity charged on top of the cost of the move, nor had I ever heard of movers being tipped by customers. When I called Marina to ask about this practice she did not have anything to say.

Since All Victory Moving and Storage has not made any effort to locate my missing items, and their third party loss and damage claim company, Anthem Claim Management LLC of Arizona has denied my claim for loss, I am working on locating my missing items myself.

I ask anyone out there who used All Victory Moving and Storage, or Atlas, or some other small moving company out of California during August 2005, if they received my belongings by mistake?

Did All Victory Moving and Storage move your belongings during July or August 2005? If yes, did you receive three or four boxes that are not yours? My labels were light blue and numbered LP0029. If you received my boxes by error, please contact me using the rebuttal key and I will make arrangements for them to be picked up and delivered to me in Florida. The boxes contain shoes, sneakers, sandals, carved wooden boxes that belonged to my deceased parents, a gray desk telephone, wooden jewelry boxes, silver tipped cowboy boots, and some costume jewelry. While the dollar value of these items may not be much, the sentimental value is priceless. Please help me resolve this situation.

Thanks for your help
