I have a similar story to the one about All World Savings. One night as I was coming home from work, my younger cousin came to me with a worried look on her face. She told me that a credit card company called for my fiance. When she told them that he wasn't home they started asking her questions about the head of household. We are currently going through money troubles so she saw a possible credit card with a 3000 limit (which he told her that was able to produce cash with) as a helping tool. She is 15 years old. She started to give him my info (name, addr.,ssn, phone) When it came to checking account information she gave him the info off of one of the bank statements.

She did not have a routing number nor did she have a full account number. The rep hung up the phone and told her to wait by the phone for 5 min for a verifier to call back. When the verifier called, she told him that she changed her mind and didn't want to go through with it. He told her that in order to cancel, she had to go through with the verification process by saying yes to all the questions to get the customer service number at the end of his speech. He said he didn't have the number, the only way to get the number was to answer yes to all the questions for the computer to continue to the end with the number.

When she got the number she called and they told her that she (I) was not in the system yet and had to call back the next day to cancel. I was very livid with this information. It did not seem like the truth to me. I usually call companies to cancel a service and they would do it then. So I waited til the next day to call back.

When I did a rude rep put me through all kinds of trouble saying that the questions were answered yes and there was nothing I could do. He also told me that there wasn't any managers or supervisors I could talk to. He then proceded to hang up in my face. I did not think the 249.90 charge would go through, but sure enough on 7/5, it tried to go through with the limited savings account info they had. I would like to know how I can put a stop to them from doing business and how to stop them from going into my account!!
