Allen Auto Sales Dallas TX RIPOFF... My "Buyer Beware" Story!

If you live in Dallas or the surrounding DFW area and you are in the market for a used car, and if you are thinking of doing business with Rafael Afraid at Allen Auto Sales in Dallas, TX, or most especially their mechanic Adam, do yourself a favor and RUN! Run away as fast as you can!

Here's what happened to me:

I bought a 2007 Ford F-150 work truck from Excellent Auto Sales, which is an independent car dealer located on the same lot with Allen Auto Sales, Dallas, TX. They are located at 2217 Crown Road, Dallas, TX 75229. (There are several dealers at that car lot that all share the same address I guess). I bought my truck "as is", and it needed some work. It has a lot of miles on it, so I guess it's leaking oil from 2 or 3 gaskets on the engine. It's not a lot, but I wanted to get it taken care of, and that's when I was introduced to Adam, the boss mechanic at Allen Auto Sales. Ric, the sales guy who sold me the truck made it clear that Adam works for Allen Auto Sales, and not Excellent Auto Sales. He told me that any deal I made with Adam had nothing to do with Excellent Auto Sales, since Adam works exclusively for Allen Auto Sales. When Adam started talking to me about working on my truck, he said the same thing. He said he could make a "special deal" with me to fix my truck. I told Adam I needed the truck during the week for my transportation company, so we agreed I would bring him the truck on Saturday.

On Saturday morning, I called Adam at around 7:30 a.m. on his cell phone. We talked for a long time about my truck and what he was going to do to it before he told me to go ahead and bring the truck to the Allen Auto Sales lot for the day. He said he would get there later that morning, and that he would have my truck finished before he left on Saturday for the day. That never happened. Adam never even showed up that day at all. I couldn't believe it! Why would he talk me into bringing my truck to Allen Auto Sales only to not show up to work on it? I tried to get an explanation from other people at Allen Auto Sales, including Ric, but no one knew anything. No one even heard from Adam. So, I wasted my day for nothing. I took two trips from my home in Fort Worth to Allen Auto Sales in Dallas to drop off my truck and then to go pick it back up for nothing. What a waste!

A couple of weeks later, I had to take a trip out of town for personal reasons. I called Adam and asked him if I left my truck with him for the four days I was going to be out of town would that be enough time for him to fix my truck and he said yes. He made up some really bad excuse that I can't remember now about what he did to me before, and promised me that wouldn't happen again. I reminded him that I would need to pick up my truck over the weekend when I got back to town so I could use it for work on Monday. He said no problem. I later learned that this was another lie.

I called Adam when I got back into town on Sunday and he told me that he started the work on my truck but that it wasn't finished. He told me he worked on my truck quite a bit on Friday, and that he couldn't give it back to me because it was all taken apart. He wanted another two days to fix it and he wanted $300! I was so mad!

I called Abhish, the owner of Excellent Auto Sales and told him what was happening. Even though it was a Sunday night, Ric called me back a few minutes later. Ric told me that as far as he knew Adam never touched my truck, but that he would go up to the car lot to look at my truck just to be sure. He called me back in a half hour and told me that as far as he could tell no one ever touched my truck! He sent me pictures of the truck, and assured me that my key was even in the truck. So not only did Adam lie to me to get me to drop off my truck in the first place, but he lied to me when he said my truck was all taken apart just to keep me from picking up my truck.

At around 7:00 or 8:00 Sunday night, Adam called again and told me that if I would go all the way from Fort Worth to the Allen Auto Sales lot in Dallas to bring him $300, that he would have my truck fixed in two days. So, not only did Adam want to string me along some more, but he wanted me to pay him money for work he still hadn't done even though he had already promised me twice he would already have it done.

Well, since Ric works for all of the dealers on the Allen Auto sales car lot, he told me that it wasn't OK that Adam was lying to me. So, Ric offered to pull my truck out of Allen Auto Sales and personally deliver it back to me. Ric said he was really repossessing my truck back from Allen Auto Sales for me! He said it was the least he could do after all the trouble I experienced from Adam's lies and that he was so sorry for what Adam put me through. And he was right!!! As far as I am concerned, I have lost many hours of my time and income also just because I fell for Adam's "Allen Auto Sales scam" TWICE!

Now, while Ric was on his way to personally deliver my truck to me in Fort Worth, Adam called me again. This time he said that if I would go ahead and bring the $300 to him at the Allen Auto Sales lot, he would go ahead and put my truck back together that night so I could have it for work Monday morning. (Remember, Ric was already in my truck on his way to deliver my truck to me.) I couldn't believe it! WHAT A SCAM ARTIST!

So, Ric finally arrived in my truck. As far as I could tell, no work had been done on it at all. So, as I took Ric back to the Allen Auto Sales car lot in my truck, Adam called again. Ric was in the truck with me this time, so I put Adam on speaker phone so that Ric and I could hear him. While Ric was listening, Adam said he was at the shop and just now put my truck back together, and if I would give him my home address, he would pick me up Monday morning to take me to my truck. Ric stayed silent during this conversation, but he heard everything. Neither one of us could believe what we were hearing, so I asked Adam again. "You're saying you are at the shop right now, and that you just drove to the shop from Fort Worth just now and that you put the truck back together again just now?" HE SAID YES! Just to get out of the conversation, I told him I would need to talk to my wife and get back to him, but that I didn't need him to come pick me up. He tried to talk me into it, but I was not about to give my home address out to this guy, especially after all of the lies he told me.

So, the story is over now right? I now have my truck back right? No. I'm sorry to say this Allen Auto Sales Dallas TX Ripoff story isn't over.

Ric told me that Adam never even bothered to show up on Monday anyway, so even if I had given into Adam's demands, Adam would not have shown up to pick me up, since he really never "put my truck back together" anyway, as he claimed. He probably planned to make up some other lie about why he didn't show up. This means Adam probably didn't find out that the truck was even gone until Tuesday. So, Tuesday afternoon, I got a call from Adam's phone, but it was Rafael, the owner of Allen Auto Sales, who tried to tell me that I was wrong about work not being done on the truck. According to Rafael, work was done on my truck on Friday, so I really did owe them money.

Was Ric wrong? I'm no criminal, so if work really had been done, then of course I need to pay them. But, from what Rafael was saying, I can tell he doesn't know the whole story. So, is Rafael part of this Allen Auto Sales scam, or is Rafael just going off what Adam was telling him? So, after I hung up with Rafael, I took my truck to the nearest mechanic I could find and asked Ric to meet me there. It was a Firestone auto center. I had them look at the engine of my truck to see if it looked to them like any work had been done on my engine, such as replacing the gaskets I needed. According to them, no bolts on the valve covers or oil pan had been touched. They were all dirty, and the oil pan had oil all over it. They showed me and Ric where they were talking about. None of the oil or dirt that was on my engine was disturbed. Adam and now Raphael with Allen Auto Sales were lying to me. I could now prove Adam never touched my truck as he and Rafael claimed.

After my crappy experience with Allen Auto Sales, Ric and Abhish are setting me up with an honest mechanic outside of Allen Auto Sales who won't rip me off like Allen Auto Sales did. Also, if it weren't for Ric's honesty and being willing to help me even if it was against his lying coworker, Adam would have succeeded in ripping me off for another $300 on top of all of the time and money I already lost. Thanks, Ric!

So, when it comes to doing business with Allen Auto Sales, be warned. Adam, their mechanic is a lying scam artist, and it looks like his boss, Raphael is either in on it with him, or that he is at least supporting scams that Adam is doing there. I told Raphael the truth about what Adam did to me. Ric told me he did too. But Adam is still there. So, if you are reading this, learn from my story. Whatever you do, stay away from Allen Auto Sales in Dallas, TX. Some of the cars there look nice, but doing business with these scam artists is just not worth the risk!!! And if you ever go there and see Adam, a fat white guy with a brown beard and a thick arab accent, RUN! YOU'RE ABOUT TO BE SCAMMED!
