The debt was transferred to them from Morristown Memorial Hospital after I couldn't pay the hospital the $420 per month. Please keep in mind this was my third stay at a hospital and I didn't have health insurance.
After getting the collection notice from this agency, I called them up and told the guy handling my case that I can only afford $20 due to large numbers of bills I have to pay from my 3 visits to hospitals. This guy Calvin said do what I can. Not once my payment was late.
About 6 months later, which was last month, I received a call from him asking me to give them more money. I said to him let me pay off some of the earlier bills first then I'll have the extra money to pay him. Also I told him I'm moving back in with my parents so I'll have even more extra money to pay. He said it's fine, not a problem.
A few days later, I received a letter from his office stating that, here's the content of that letter.
*You have ignored previous requests for payment of this debt and have made no attempt to pay our client ATL HLTH SYS MMH.
We must insist that you call our office to resolve this debt and avoid further action. Please call 908-317-0440 to discuss your account or send your payment payable to our office at the address below along with the bottom portion of this notice.
Unless we hear from you or receive your payment in full, we must assume that you have no intention of paying your outstanding bill and we shall proceed accordingly.*
I called Calvin again and he said to disregard this notice. It was sent out by mistake. A few days ago I got another one of the same notice from him, this time the letter is dated 8/21/2007. What the hell? Is this some kind of a bad joke?
If anyone know, what kind of a company is Alliance Financial Management LLC? And any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
And oh by the way, the agency has a po box in Westfield NJ. Why not just direct all payments to the office, why the po box?
