Alliance Mitigation They took $2000 from me and stated they would modify my home, they took my money, never answered calls and disapeared. I lost my home to bankruptcy California

I received a phone call just as I was about to lose my home, the man stated that he could help me save my home. At this point I was desperate and needed help. I had 2 children at home and did not want to lose it. They stated I needed to pay them a fee to get started and would pay $2000 and they would modify my home and lower my montly payments. The lady assigned to my account kept contact with me until the final payment of the $2,000 was paid. They stated it would take at least 6 months to modify. They advised me to not pay my house and they would fix the problem. I called and called and emailed for weeks/months with no response. One time they answered the receptionist gave  me the run around and hung up. Almost 6-7 months had passed and I received a foreclosure paper from Wells Fargo stating they were going to repo my home. I contacted Wells Fargo to tell them I was going through a modification with Alliance Mitigation. They stated they never received anything from anyone and they could try a modification through them but it was not likely. I spent all my money and I had to file bankruptcy. I was forced to leave my home and move to a different home. It now has been a few years and I am still unsettled from this, I just want some answers to where my money went. I lost everything do to this and when i tried to contact them at a later date, the email and phone numbers given to me no longer existed. It was like they disapeared into thin air. I never heard from them again.
