After waiting for more than a day to have Allied's service company (Lone Star Plumbing) come out to repair what appeared to be a very simple broken connection leak happening in my front garden, the service tech comes out, stands there, asks me where it is leaking.  I showed him and told him and showed him how easy the access was.  He does nothing else but go to his truck, call Allied to "check my coverage", comes back to may door and tells me that on top of the double service (since it was a weekend), he would need to charge be an additional $250 just to take a little shovel and dig down a foot to find the connector.  Heck, I can do that part myself!

He says the home warranty does not cover any kind of access.  What is THAT supposed to mean?  If you have a home warranty that covers plumbing, how many plumbing jobs have immediate access to the problem?  For this, he would have not needed any fancy equipment, no plants were in his way, the ground was already very moist from the leak so is was easy to dig for 5 minutes, and the problem itself, which is likely just a connector broken and easliy replaced for I'm sure way less than $100.  But to fix this, Allied and Lone Star Repairs wanted to charge me the $160 service call, plus the $250 to get to it, though I am already "covered" for $1750 worth of repairs.  I refused to pay any of it.

Absolutely ridiculous!!!  I called Allied numeroous times and finally got some girl on the line who was nothing but a puppet reading from a script on how to deal with unhappy customers.  I'm sure that girls works LOTS of overtime!
