I was in dispute with Direct TV, (see my other report on them) Alliedinterstate was a collection agency for Direct TV. I decided to pay this debt even though I did not feel I owed to keep it off my credit. I made payment to Allied over the phone via electronic check on 1/19/04.

It has been well over a year figuring this debt was settled and I would not have to deal with Direct TV ever again. I recieved a letter in the mail from a new collection agency Risk management requesting payment for the same debt for Direct TV. I imediatly called risk management to dispute this They had wasted no time adding this to my credit report as it was there before I got notice they were even going after me for a debt I had already paid. I spent HOURS on the phone with Direct TV and Allied to resolve this. Direct TV is showing the payment but not that it was resolved, blaming Allied for not filing that info after collection. The only proof I have is the copy of the electronic check Along with the original letter from Allied. I had paid this to avoid problems on my credit even though I did not feel I owed this debt. Now after over a year there it is on my credit showing a outstanding debt. Allied finally said they would send me a letter showing I had paid, I still have not recieved that. I have spent hours with them trying to resolve this. They are wasting my time, They have ruined my credit for the time being. I will prove this was paid and should never have been on my credit report but in the mean time I am forced to pay a higher intrest on a loan I have applied for. Althogh I have the original letter from allied and soon proof the payment was made to them without there letter that still has not arrived and probably never will. Direct TV shows the payment was recieved by them but says Allied needed to complete the payment info showing it was paid and settled. The company I spoke with in Ohio for Allied was somewhat helpful, but when I finally got ahold of the ones I was supposed to be dealing with in New York they were RUDE, BLUNT, and said they would send the letter, they also made it clear they no longer delt with DTV. I would also like to see and end to this.

Allied Interstate/Risk Management

AUTHOR: Lori - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 25, 2005

I'm also having problems with Allied Interstate, so I've been researching them extensively. Is it just "Risk Management" that has the account now? Because Allied Interstate is owned by IntelliRisk Management Corp.

From www.irmc.com
All OF the following are owned by IntelliRisk.

Allied Interstate and First Contact in the United States; CBCL in Canada; Legal & trade Collections, Legal & trade Financial Services, ReachFlow and Revenues Management Services in the United Kingdom; IntelliRisk Philippines, Inc. in the Philippines; and IntelliRisk Management India Pvt. Ltd. in India.

So, they might be trying to screw you out of money if the Risk Management you are talking about is IntelliRisk.

Trying to END THIS in meantime I am paying.

Tahnk you for the information, I will put some of it to use. As far as Allied They have not called or sent me anything since I paid them. I have called them tryio get this letter they havn't sent me showing payment.

The letter m them is also over a year ago when I did pay it. The transaction shows on my bank log, but it does not show who recieved payment as it was electronic check. My bank has found a copy of this check and is mailing it to me. I am waiting for it to arrive any day.

I dont think I will recieve anything from Allied as I think they were just trying to get rid of me on the phone. Maybe if I use there collection tactics to get it? Direct TV, again, is actually showing the payment recieved in there records but not showing the account settled and will not release that until I get something from allied as they were responsible for the account at the time.

Although they turned over the payment to direct Tv they failed to file any paperwork showing the collection settled along with the payment. As far as DTV's new collection agency, Risk Management, They have not called once, The only thing I have is a letter to inform me they were attempting to collect on this debt.

I Called them imediatly to dispute this, although they were not at all rude and they did show it as disputed on my credit report, I would have liked the chance to dispute this before it showed up on there as an open, outstanding, Adverse account.

I currently needed a very nessasary home improvement loan to replace my heating system before it gets any colder here. I am forced to go with a very high intrest rate because of this.

I do plan to refinance after this matter is settled to lower the intrest in the mean time I will pay. As far as the #1 button, I like that although I do not recieve calls for collections purposes I will definatly try this on the telemarketers that always call and wont take no for an answer.

End this

Photocopy both your copy of the electronic check and your letter from Allied, (5 copies each) and send one each to the three credit reporting agencies with a letter saying you dispute this debt as it's already discharged.

Send an identical letter to Allied, Registered Return Receipt Requested (USPS Costs a few bucks) be sure to include in the letter to Allied that you never want to hear from Allied again under any circumstances whatsoever. Keep your copies and receipt.

And refuse to talk with any collector from Allied, if they bug you again say "You were told not to call" then hold the #1 button down on your phone (Hold it away from your ear) and let it scream in their ear until they give up and hang up, repeat every time they call.

That will end it.
