I had a bill with Sprint PCS originally $300 + but made an agreement with sprint that spring would accept $135. Called to make payment. They wanted to charge $9.95 to use my Discover card however they don't accept discover, only Visa and Mastercard, and would charge $5.95 for a check payment. I called Sprint to VERIFY and I paid thru sprint avoiding the EXTRA CHARGE!

They made me so MAD I hung up on them and they called me back and I wasn't at MY home. I was at my Fiancee's business. They didn't have that number on file and the called it back ASKING FOR ME!! saying I had a payment in process and I needed to finish it.

Call whatever company they say they are representing and see if they'll honor whatever agreement they made and avoid the max amount they can charge you by paying with a credit card or check!!!

All I know is what kind of collection agency doesn't accept all major credit cards, obviously not a good one!

don't pay by personal check or credit card.
send them a money order doesn't matter who sign it as long as you don't. have a friend do, just before you mail it copy it and save it with a copy of the letter send it all (RRR).

in2-3 weeks contact the money order company and request a copy front and back place that in your records too.

a payment is a payment so it reallty shouldn't, but the reason they want you c,c,card# or banking #, so next month they can get the rest, even if they agree not to.

did you ever have them validate the debt?

payments and seizing of bank accounts can occur and are a pain to resolve .... always get a money order or cashiers check if you feel you HAVE to send a payment ...

Also never give them a sample of your signature - it can appear on documents you never signed ...
