I received a "Formal Notification" that Allied Interstate was collecting for the "US Postal Service ASC" a sum of over $1000. Having done my homework on here, I went to a pay phone to call them and they claimed that either I was an ex- employee owing for an overpayment, or I was a consumer who cashed a money order that was found to be missing. The alleged incident took place 3+ years ago.

I am writing to these clowns but based on everything else I have read about them here, this is not a legitimate debt (they do not have my actual name, only initials and a last name).

My only concern is that if this is listed as a federal debt, I will have tons of problems getting this purged from my consumer credit report. I will admit to spotty credit over the years but things are in good shape now, and anyway if I scammed the Postal Service out of hundreds of dollars I would assume they would come after me criminally, right?

Allied Interstate Rebuttal

AUTHOR: Carol Ann - (U.S.A.)

Like you, An Identity Thief went to work for the Postal Service a few years back and I was denied employment with them even though I am an Honorably discharged veteran. I have recieved nothing in writing. Like you I am being plagued by these same scam artists that at the same time are attempting to collect information about you to further their scam. They call at least 20 times a day demanding information and that they are a Federal Agaency with their very formal phone announcement. That alone should get them not you some jail time.

Nobody gives information to an unknown caller or collector. They apparently have been involved in NewYork Florida and California running thi scam from information they have fraudulently obtained.

This person cals from 1-416-935-2985 and has been reported to Federal Trade Commission, Fbi.gov/submit a tip. Maybe you should do the same. You may also be a victim of Identity Theft. Get a lawyer and start a class action Lawsuit they deserve it!

Keep posting complaints and updates about it.

Good luck and make them pay.
