When these people provided parts and labor, nothing was done correctly costing us thousands of dollars for defective workmanship. Nothing can be truer than the installation of the ignition wiring on our Ford Dually which were incorrectly installed 5 times costing us $11,357.75
The vehicle was taken into Alltech Automotive for some tune up work prior to leaving for Florida. Shortly after that we left for Florida but only got as far as Erie PA. when the engine blew a piston. The mechanic who installed the new engine told me the wires should'nt be bound together and must be placed in a proper loom. He went on to say that this may have been the cause of the blown piston cost of the engine $2951.48 Labor $750.00
Thinking that binding ignition wires together wouldn't cause piston problems, I continued to deal with this repair shop. In early 2003 I again took the vehicle in for minor tune up. Again problems Faulty Ignition Wires? Apparently the Delco Ignition wires that were installed earlier were defective. On march 23 2003 the Delco wires were replaced under warranty. Same problems. Federinko now claimed it was Valve Lifters. Replace Valve Lifters Cost $1183.76 Well it wasn't Valve Lifters Now Federinko claimed the problem was still the Delco wires. A set of Ford wires were installed. Cost $88.76 No change. Federinko now claimed it was Injectors. He even went on to claim that the problem was the size of the trailer I was pulling.
Back to Alltech. Engine misfiring, Smoking, etc. Federinko was now claiming it had a blown piston? Piston # 7. Federinko suggested taking it to his friend Rick (Ram Cylinder Head & Machine who supposidly replaced the piston? Cost $1917.56 Somehow the vehicle ran worse. The vehicle was taken down the street to Auto Works who performed a compression test. The problem was piston # 3. Piston # 7 was never replaced. The vehicle was finally taken to the Balancing ACT AND REBUILT. cOST $4554.80
How does Mr Fedrinko and Alltech Automotive stay in business. I would thing anyone in the automive business would know how to properly replace a set of ignition wires?
