Alltel Mobile ripoff unethical sales tactics uncooperative customer service rude obviously forgetful Littlerock Arkansas

I have been an alltel customer since 1994. I recently called about a service upgrade and i was told I was long overdue to an upgrade due to old fliptop phone. They told me I could get a new phone for 99 cents . Not one time during this conversation did she ever say anything about a 2 year contract ever !! I have been month to month for 9 years. I get my first bill and see a 2 year contract I was very upset.
I called customer service and after talking to 5 different people and numerous calls back and excuses that the girl that sold me the phone wasn't at her desk then i finally got her on the phone and she acted like she didn't know anything about not telling me. She told me she would call back in 10 minutes. 45 minutes later, I called her back and was told at 2:00 she was at lunch and wouldn't be back till 4:30 to which I replied oh she has a 2 1/2 hour lunch. I asked for a supervisor and was told to hold on another man came on and I asked are you a supervisor and he said no. I said I asked for a supervisor he said they are in a meeting.

Needless to say a so called supervisor named Clell called me back and was very rude and said he couldn't help what she did or did not tell me but I was bound to the 2 year contract unless I wanted to send him 69.95 for the phone to which I replied I don't think so. I was told it was 99 cents I even confirmed with her the total cost of the phone twice and she said 99 cents not one word about 2 year contract. He said well you can send 2nd phone back but you can't send 1st one back. So he is trying to tell me I am bound to a 2 year contract I never knew about and I can't get out of it.

I sent for another phone for my husband before I knew there was a 2 year contract and that salesman also never mentioned a 2 year contract.

In my opinion I was misinformed or better yet not informed at all.

For such a big company they must hire the dumbest customer sales reps in the USA. Also the most rude uncooperative supervisors
