This travel agent uses unethical practices. We booked our trip in June of 03. She took our 490.00 dollar deposit which included the insurance then basically forgot us. I tried to call her on several occations but didnt get any responce from her.. Finally I reached someone else in the office in september. HE COULD NOT FIND ANY FILE ON OUR TRIP.

She then called me later that day and got very hateful on the phone about the whole thing. When asked for confirmation of our trip she finally produced something towards the middle of september. When going over it I noticed the price had changed by 72.00 dollars from our orginal receipt and the booking date was only done in September on the 6th but our deposit was made on june 27. And our flights had also changed to a different airline and times.

When questioned about this she just got very nasty and refused to comment other than to say it was the insurance that was added. But that was a lie because with apple vacations you cant add insurance to a vacation after 30 days I checked with the company on this so theres no way this is correct any the insurance was 90.00 dollars for 2 people not 72.00 so it doesnt add up. And what was done with my deposit from june 27 till september 6 because apple vacation nor delta airlines received any payment before the 6th of september.

#4 Consumer Suggestion

That TA should have backed up the original quote!

That Travel Agent should have stuck by the original quote she gave you, and your invoice she sent to you in June, should have stated if it included insurance. As for the insurance, she might have gotten insurance from an outside source other than Apple Vacations, and then as long as it was paid before final payment, you would still have been covered.
Not really sure if 72 bucks is worth a small claims case, but Apple should be made aware of what happened, it sounds like she is blaming them, and if she did not make the reservation in June, but waited till Sept, then the fault lies with HER!
