Mr. Kunkel presented himself as licensed and bonded. He was neither. He also stated he would take out a $1 million insurance policy. We have no idea if he did. He ripped us off. His method was quite unique. He would ask for incremental payments and lie to us about the amount of work being accomplished. In the end we paid him 99% of the contract price and we had to hire another person at 50% of Mr. Kunkel's price to complete the project.

Not only did we pay someone else to finish the project but we also had to pay to undo and redo Mr. Kunkel's workmanship. An example on his lack of skills, the industry standards for pavers is 10 inches of gravel and 1-2 inches of sand all mechanically compacted under the paver. Mr. Kunkel laid 1-2 inches of gravel and no sand and used a rubber mallet to compact. This was when we finally realized his words and acts do not match up.

DO NOT HIRE RAY KUNKEL OR ALPHA HOME SERVICES. He talks a great game but that is where his expertise ends.
