Altech Cars, LTD. Vehicle was paid off and continued cashing checks they had no right to. Chantilly, Virginia

First of all, I am a very calm person but for some reasons these individuals strike a real nerve. From the beginning I should have known things were not right. The vehicle had a state inspection sticker that "supposedly" was just done. Well, on my wasy to New York after purchasing the car I was almost in a huge accident bc the Brakes and Rotors were destroyed. I hit the brakes to the floor and the car just shook, finally coming to a very slow stop. I had to swerve off the road to avoid slamming into th back end of a car coming of an exit bc the brakes did not work. So i took the car back in and they said they were going to change the rotors and brakes. Well I picked up the car and it seemed fine, until i took the car to the mechanic and he let us know that they changed the brakes but NOT the rotors like they said. So I had to pay to have that done. Second, there was this funny ticking noise under the floor boards on the drivers side but no engine lights were on so I thought nothing of it. Two months after we got the vehicle i took the car into the dealer and was informed that the catalytic converter system was bad and would need to be changed, or my car would not pass emissions. A few thousand dollars later and the car left me on the side of the road and would not start.... The alternator went on it. Currently, both front window motors do not work. Now, the big problem. The agreement was the make 24 payments in one year to pay off the remaining balance of the car. If all payments were paid on time the last payments would be waived. I went in and paid off 9 payments with cash right away. Meanwhile over the next few months the remainging 14 checks were cashed, leaving the final one. This check was to be given back to me as all payments were made timely. Well, of course not. They argue the car was not paid off and they went and cashed the check anyway. Therefore, stealing from us! I called and send copies of all check numbers and all the cash I gave them and that equaled the total balance owed. Now here they are saying that they arent sure their numbers add up the same. Well obviously, their "accounting" department does not work whatsoever or they would have known how much I owed and exactly when it was paid off. Being said, they are crooks! Do not do business with them as they will swindle you in one way or another. It is definately worth the extra money to go down the road to the Toyota or Nissan dealer to pay a little more, but at least they are organized and honest. My husband just got a new Toyota Tundra we paid cash for and we have had no problems with it nor with Toyota when he needed something done on it! In the end, they can either refund the money they owe or we can end up in court and it will end up much more costly on their end because I have all the paperwork showing they lied.
