Altitude Marketing Dish Network and DISH Network Fraudulent Marketing Scheme left my 82 year blind mother without the TV game shows that we ordered and confronted her with a two year contract only after equipment was set up in my mother house.  When DISH was ordered, I spoke to Phillip who said that the $27.99 package included TV game shows and Phillip never mentioned a contract!

Early, July 2010, I called Altitude Marketing and spoke with a Phillip. I asked specifically if the $24.99 introductory package included the TV game shows station.  I explained that I was in NJ and that I was ordering DISH for my blind 82 year old mother who lives in Florida who wanted the games show station.  He repeatedly replied affirmative and said that there was a game show station. He never mentioned a 2 year contract nor did he ever say the game show station would be extra.

After bring the equipment into my blind elder mothers home, Hector, of DISH, tells my blind elderly mother that she has to sign a two year contract! I called Ashley at DISH to complain that there was no mention of a two year contract when I called to inquire about the DISH introductory package.  She said that the marketing company may not know about the contract and she refuse to waive the contract for my mother.  Ashley was inconsiderate and said that the company had no special considerations for the disabled or elderly. .

Finally, I visited my mother in Florida a week after the installation and now discovered that she did NOT have access to the 24 hr game show station!   I called Altitude Marketing and Danny tells me that they would review the recording of my conversation with Phillip.  After several minutes of researching, he told me that there is a game network that shows sport games like horseback riding, but there was no game show station in the $24.99 package. After being left on the line for 30 minutes waiting for someone to resolved the false marketing issue, I hung up.  Then I called I regurgitated  the compliant.  After being plunged in to a cycle of flimsy excuses that maybe there was a mix up between sport games and game shows, It became clear that there was no intention to resolve the problem that would be fair to me and my mother.  I request that the service be cancelled.  I was then threatened with the more than $200.00 cancellation fee.  I protested that rather, as victims of Altitude Marketing DISH Network fraudulent marketing, I believe that DISH should pay me and my mother for the several hours waste of our time and the frustration.  I suggested that they should come to take their equipment a make us whole.  The matter is still being investigated with no resolution after almost a month.  People should watch out for Altitude Marketing DISH Network and their customer service is awful.

altitude marketing

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, but if you do understand that Altitude marketing's customer service department is a group of the hardest working people you will have to deal with within the company. Altitude marketing acts like they play the rules but i know for a fact that they do not. when i was with the company i was told directly to hide information form in-house dish network reps. they are also not good employers. they train and force employees to use deceptive sale practices. i know Dannie and i know Philip and Phil knew what station your mom requested and Phil chose his words carefully in order to get your mom to buy. i trained Danni and unfortunately i trained him like i was trained, i trained him to hide the truth and never let the company take blame.your mom grew up in a different time where people where held to their word and the best thing that can come of this is in the form of a lesson for you

Not all dealers are the same

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

Anymore most dealers are in it for the quick buck. Dish requires the dealer to give a 6 month warranty on the installation. I personally give a 1 year warranty on my installs. i doubt that after the ordeal you went through . That either you will be calling them out to work on your mothers system . Or they  wouldnt be willing to come out. Just making up an excuse.

All the information you needed is on Dish Network's web site http://www.dishnetwork.com/ . The programming packages and what is in them. The price of the programming and it show also tell you about the contract. I encourage anyone that calls me . To call around to see what the other dealers are saying. Dish Network runs the show and we have to follow their guidelines. Not all dealers do this.

I also offer a blank copy of the contract and my invoice. You should always read them before you sign anyway. I've been doing this for 26 years now. I'm not perfect and i still make mistakes. But i always try to fix them.

A friend once told me 30 years ago. No such thing as a free lunch. You dont get something for nothing. If the Cell Phone Companies , Car Dealers, Apartments, Cable Companies all requires a signed contract. Then so doesn't Dish and Directv.

But i wish i could tell you what to do. The Game Show Network is in the Americas top 200 package  http://www.dishnetwork.com/packages/detail.aspx?pack=AT200. With the promotional 15.00 dollars off a month for 12 months. iIt would run your mother 39.99 a month for the first 12 months. Then go back to it's original monthly price of 54.99 a month.

I just went to their web site to see if the Americas top 40 ( family pak ) had it in there. But they apparently don't have that package anymore.

To be honest the whole cable industry as gone crazy. I have never seen anything like this. Where by everyone is sueing everyone else. Directv and HBO contract is up and HBO wants to raise their rates. ATT and Halmark are in a contract dispute and Halmark wants to raise their rates.

When is the madness going to stop i couldn't begin to tell you. I was happier with my c band ( big dish ). I could have gotten ESPN 1 & 2 for 15.00 a year. A friend has Fox News , CHH and Headline News for 20.00 a year. BUt come December 31  that willl come to and end.

Oh according to my busines rules if for whatever reason under your 6 month installation warranty with the dealer. That if you call Dish out they will only warranty the install for 60 days.  I once had a customer he didn't give a rats A@* if he got a warranty.

Everyone should be doing their investigation of Dish Network and or Directv before having the install done. A long witht he dealer your going to have the install done by.  Then read whatever is put before you sign on the dotted line. Please dont sign it before they start the job. They may not ever come back to finish it. If your not happy with the work. Just tell them to leave. They might be pissed about the time they spent on the install. I dont know what each location says about removing the equipment. But i know that I can't remove anything that has been installed on the house ( cable, any mounting hardware . but i can take the dish minus the mount )  It's your home and make sure they do a walk thru with you before they start.

Check your local area on your rights. I would file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office on the dealer . Just a guess if that is how they are going to treat you. It makes me wonder if the install was dont right.

Altitude is a Dish retailer. They will charge you $50 for a processing fee. They are making millions of dollars off you!!! You can order directly from Dish. Call 800-333-3474 or www.dishnetwork.com. Thats who you will be dealing with anyway as soon as your installation is completed.
